Chung, you can still study Saami for the 6 Week Challenge. It is nice to have others who
study the same thing so that you can exchange ideas, but it is not a requirement.

Now that I think of it, I'm not sure if I can fit a 6-week challenge starting on August 1 for two reasons:
1) I'll very likely be away in September thus cutting short the challenge period (or at least I would have to start in mid-July so that I could have my 6 weeks ending before I become unavailable in September).
2) I want to start learning Saami NOW! :-)

I'm hoping that I'll have time to do French, but if not, I will probably participate with Latin, which I'll be studying anyway for school. Or I might decide to do Ancient Greek - I'm not sure.

I think I'll start on Russian in August. It's as good a time as any!

I'm brand new to this forum, but I'd love to join in with German. I haven't even started learning German yet, but it's
definitely a language I want to learn. French seems to be a popular choice too, but I think I might be a bit too
advanced to join with French, since the purpose seems to be to aim for languages that you aren't as advanced in.

August 1st I will be very close to have finished the Passive Phase of Assimil German with Ease. At that point, I will thus have 7 weeks left of the Active Phase.
As I finish the Active Phase, I would use a six-week challenge to get to basic fluency (aka upper intermediate/B2) in German. My plan is to do loads of shadowing, scriptorium, Deutsche Welle, progressive grammars usw. and really get the language in the bones.
Ich stimme für eine intensive sechs Wochen Deutsch Herausforderung!

I think I'll be down for French! Is it okay if I study casually now?

I would do this with Russian, but I'm not sure if my level is low enough. I wouldn't consider myself at an intermediate level right now, but I'm getting closer and I think I might be there by August! I would actually like to learn some German too, but I'd really rather focus on Russian right now. =/
