Ah, and @Kerrie, nearly forgot to answer you.
I guess Luxembourg and especially Luxembourg City (or "d'Stad" as it is called among Luxembourgers) is an extreme excaptional case here Europe. My hometown is propably as monolingual as your place, though we are supposed to take two languages at school. Yet if you don't use them you'll forget them. Here in Luxembourgian schools* children are taught in 3 different languages (starting with Luxembourgish then German then French), they also have to learn English and about 30-40% of these children speak another language at home (Portuguese, Italian, etc.). So those children end up knowing about 4-5 languages (to varying degrees) before their 20th birthday
*There are International schools as well that have another curriculum - they usually start teaching in English or French.
EDIT: Typo

I haven't been posting in my log as much, since I was busy trying to catch 10th place in the 6WC. But I'm back now. =)

*cue start of (another) Public Service Announcement*
I recently stumbled on a big collection of texts from Logos that was just too good to keep in relative anonymity in my log or the "Links and Resources" sub-forum. I think that the links could be handy for any of you who want some practice with L-R or to have another source of texts in your target language(s).
For your purposes, here are the links to the material in Catalan, French, Italian, Brazilian and European Portuguese, Romanian, and Spanish. There are also some texts in Latin and lesser-known Romance languages/dialects such as Corsican, Galician and Occitan among others.
Click on the row of letters above the titles to get texts whose title starts with that letter. Texts with accompanying audio have a little blue speaker beside the title.

SIX MONTH ROLL CALL!
- I've been using my regular language logs for French and Spanish, and I'm not sure if it's possible to tag them as TAC 12 - but they are!
My original plan was to do all Spanish, all the time, starting July, and to maintain my French with novels.
While I've been reading in French a lot, I still feel like I have a lot to learn through French textbooks. I've been using FSI in spurts (I'm halfway through Lesson 17), and have been alternating that with chapters from the excellent French in Context.
I restarted Spanish this morning, though it was just a refresher with Michel Thomas. I'm going to keep my focus on French though the summer, but start warming up my Spanish with MT and Pimsleur. Then, come September, I'll switch focus to Spanish.

November Roll Call:
Logs updated within the last month: Kanewai, Garyb, Hendrek, Songlines, Kerrie, Luso.
Not updated logs recently, but have posted on other threads. (Or have still been studying, but not posted): Mani,
Pesahson, Microsnout, Tw561.
Are there any other Romantics still TAC-ing? (Did I miss anyone?)
