Howdy, Wort! I too love the sound of Russian and I hope you can achieve your goals with
the language this year. Best of luck!

Thanks for the comments!
@Jack: Yeah, it would be great if a native speaker had a look on what I write in English.
January 2nd 2013
Spanish:
I worked through an article, that means I read it, wrote down all the words I hand't known before and then I
started learning them by rewriting all of them into my vocabulary book. Furthermore, I had 45 minutes of
conversation with a native speaker.
Currently, my main problem is the correct pronunciation of the r/rr since most German speakers produce this
sound using the uvula whereas in Spanish you have to make an alveolar one if I'm not mistaken.
Russian:
I repeated some words and phrases as well as I practiced my writing skills by noting down some new basic words.
Unfortunately, it is still difficult to read more or less fluently due to the numerous phonetic rules and the unfamiliar
letters (I know, Russian or Cyrillic ones are very close to our latin alphabet but nevertheless you have to get used to
the new letters).

You're not mistaken. Conversely, my uvular 'r's are not very bad but one of my biggest headaches with German pronunciation is separating them from 'g's - put them together und ich habe große Probleme!
Happy New TAC BTW! :)

@ Toffeeliz: Yes, you said that before haha :), but why don't you take some Russian classes? |

I'm going to get either classes or a private tutor after I have a solid grasp of the basics. It's good motivation for me to get my butt into gear and get to a point where I'll feel comfortable with a tutor.
Must say, reading through your log I'm very impressed with your Spanish (from what you've said). You've got great drive! :D
