Both are perfectly okay! As long as you don't quit the whole challenge, it doesn't really matter :-)

Hello fellow team Spaß members! My history with German is pretty long. I studied it for 8 years at school and I used to watch a lot of VIVA back in the day (around 1997 or so). But then I got to university and I realized English was going to be more important for me (I studied computer science) so I forgot about German and focused all my attention on English. I did spend one semester as an exchange student in Germany but that was my last serious connection to German.
Now I need to revive my German skills for work purposes. I've been doing it for the last few months and my passive skills are good enough, maybe somewhere between B2 and C1, but my active skills are around B1 and I need to improve them fast. I don't know yet how I will go about it but I'm pretty sure it will be a mix of methods involving reading a lot (preferably aloud) and using textbooks to brush up on grammar.
My main language for TAC 2014 will be Korean and I'll be studying it more than German because my level in it is much lower. However, I wanted to register for this team as well because it might help with my motivation. I'm looking forward to see what resources everyone else is using and to read about everyone's progress throughout the year. Let's have fun!
Oh, and I will make a new log for the next year.

Happy holidays, everyone!
This will be my first attempt at learning this rather "difficult" language. I hope to reach an A2 level by the end of the year. I'll post my log on 1st July.
Here's to a successful year, everyone! |

It's not as bad as the eastern languages at all. It's just English made harder...
1st July?

Hi, is it too late to join?
Most of my efforts will be on French, however, I'd like to start doing some short German instruction to help build a basic level for when I delve into deeper studies.

It's not too late to join, welcome to Team Spaß!
We now have 19 full members and 4 observers.
Unless we are suddenly overwhelmed with sign ups over the next day or two, I would be happy to keep the group open to new members, unless there are any strong objections?

Count me in!!! :-D
I would really like to be part of the German team and I like the name ;-)
My goals are quite simple. Get through a larger chunk of material up to the lowest level at which I can tackle native material, something like A2/B1.
My log is here: http://how-to-learn-any-language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?T ID=37667&PN=1&TPN=1
I'm looking forward to being part of such a promising team! It will be a great motivation.
