Sorry I haven't updated the participant list for a while. I've had a tough week as I lost my brother, and travelled to the USA for his memorial service. He was not exactly a great linguist, but he loved German and Germany. After just two years of high-school German he spent a summer holiday working in a sauerkraut and pickle factory in Germany, which has been an inspiration to me of the value of hard work, immersion and doing a lot with a little.
But now that I'm ready to update the thread, I find the edit post buttons are missing. Anyone know what's going on?

Sorry to hear about your family’s loss Jeffers.
The forum seems to have a lot of page load issue lately, probably due to database contention or resource issues. I've found that pages often are only partially loaded. If you refresh the page during one of these episodes, the buttons may not appear.

Oh my, I'm sorry:(((
Well, the edit button is supposed to disappear after two weeks, which is less then what has passed, but logs are supposed to be editable forever and sometimes they aren't. That thread also offers a solution.

I'm in! I just started over with French after over a year of pretty much no language learning, so this is great timing for me.
Name: Lianne
Goals:
1) Complete Michel Thomas Speak French Language Booster
2) 10 more skills in Duolingo
3) Add to Anki all the words I don't know from a French children's book I got from the library (Pétunia, princesse des pets)
I recently started a new log for this year, here, so I'll keep track of my progress there.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss, Jeffers. Losing a family member is a terrible loss. Thank you for having the
strength to come back and do this.
I have had a lot of trouble getting into the forum too lately. I do not know what is wrong.

I'm very sorry to hear about your brother. Thank you for your dedication to the board and to this challenge! I hope the community offers you some comfort.
I've bee weighing different options for how I would like to participate and finally came up with this:
Name: sctroyenne
Goals:
1. Irish: Start Gaeilge gan Stró intermediate. Get through at least the first 4 units. Start writing in Irish - write at least once a week. Attend conversation group and/or have a conversation session over Skype.
2. French: Do at least 4 units targeting my weak spots in Grammaire progressive du français (perfectionnement). Write at least once a week - either a résumé, or if possible, a synthèse (with help from my book Production écrite).
3: Spanish: Complete the Spanish tree in Duolingo (I have 41 skills to go).
