Hey guys, I guess I'm the newbie this year as I'm starting from almost scratch in
Japanese. I'm thinking whether or not to set some goals for the year to give myself
something to aim for but don't really know what is achievable realistically. I've set my
eyes on JLPT N5 (but may not take it) as a sort of distant deadline. Anyone got some
advice for a padawan?
EDIT: I'll add what resources I have bookmarked ASAP (probably on the 26th)

I bought this Cantonese-English dictionary. (And man, the coding for this forum still
f**king sucks. I can't directly link anything anymore.)
I generally try to avoid buying dictionaries, but with a language such as Cantonese
that only has one major online dictionary, I thought it was worth the purchase.

Thank you for the recommendation, The Real CZ. I'll make sure to add them to the
Cantonese post. I agree, the forum software can be really annoying at times. And the
weird thing is, the same thing doesn't work twice when adding links. Lots of hoops to
jump through.
Glad you dropped by :)

Woodsei,
I think you can copy the same links Tarvos added for the team Gumiho (TAC 2014):

You can also add the same links Sunja added for team 鹊 (TAC 2014). http://how-to-

@Nieng Zhongan: Thanks a whole lot for your advice. I tried that, unfortunately, as
well as what Ezy Ryder recommended, but it kept generating dead links. I even tried
shortening the URL by deleting everything before "forum_posts," as suggested before,
and it still won't work. The only thing that DID work was using a service like bit.ly
to shorten the URL and link to the individual threads. So far, it seems to work.
Arthaey back on the TAC thread had suggested it. Let's hope it stays that way! And I
STILL can't get the third image to show. Oh well.
Glad you dropped by and looking forward to seeing here again :)

I wonder if the image issue is due to some size limit on a post or something? Those first
two images are quite large, so perhaps using smaller versions may allow the third image to
appear.

I'm guessing it could probably be that. I tried using a smaller version, but when adding
the photos, it requires an image URL, and that's what pops out. Do you have a suggestion
about making them smaller?
I hope you don't mind the questions. When it comes to technical issues....

Hi Anya, and welcome to the team! Just make sure you sign up over at the TAC'15 Wikia
roster, as well as in the East Asian team. Judging from your profile, I'm guessing your
focus will be Japanese and Mandarin?
