I just want to finish Japanese. I want to be at 90% listening and reading fluency by the end of next year. Hmm...maybe start Russian, but I'm not positive I'll get to that. I need to be focused on Japanese.

Well I will be studying French exclusively so my goals are,

1) to be able to read regular French websites newspapers and books to atleast 85-90% fluency

2)(this one might sound silly) be able to understand 90-100% of "the Simpsons" in french, since all the DVD box sets contain both English and French audio.
-right now im watching it in English, then switching to French after so I know what is being said and can recognize words more easily. I hope to not have to do this and still be able to understand the show.

Russian. And only Russian. I've been postponing and procrastinating long enough. I am now at a early beginner level, so I am not sure what a reasonable goal for one year. I am, however, setting a goal of studying every day on my lunch break at work. I'll start with the New Penguin book, and work on reading the dual language text of the 1st Narnia book.

For me, this year is all about getting good at Japanese, while not losing any Mandarin or Thai.

Japanese
1) Finish Read Real Japanese, absorbing all the vocab. This is my easy-reading staple; I read one of the 8 stories every day, even though they are nearly memorized.
2) Read at least 1 hour of new material per day, every day.
3) Listen for at least 2 hrs per week
4) At least 3 language partners per week
5) supermemo daily
Mandarin
1) listen for at least 2 hrs per week
2) At least 2 language partners per week
3) supermemo daily
Thai
1) listen for at least 2 hrs per week
2) At least 2 language partners per week
3) supermemo daily
Spanish - no plans
Swahili - no plans
French - start if I have time
