I'm very satisfied with what I achieved learning German. I didn't get to write the Official exam (they don't have my level here) but one thing that made me feel real good was that I was able to make a half-an-hour presentation about Migrants in Germany and while I was preparing it I got to interview several German students. I met a couple of girls I was able to talk with for about an hour and we would only use two or three English words as they felt extremely shy about their Spanish.
The German course is over so I don't know what comes next... I would consider myself an intermediate level student so I guess the next step would be either taking private lessons or trying to find a school in a German-speaking country. It seems like I will be spending a few months in the US which will give little space for improving my German though.
All my best for 2009!

By this time next year, I plan on being basically fluent in Arabic (it will probably be mostly Egyptian, but with the ability to switch to MSA), enough so that I can hold conversations about pretty much any topic that might come up. While I'm not that concerned about reading and writing, I'll also be able to read most things I come across.
If I reach this level early, I want to branch out into other Arabic dialects and then, if there's any time left, start becoming conversational in Farsi.
