I'm not a religious man, so I'll share my plans with the forum and pray you all have a divine sense of humour...
Alphabetically listed:
Dutch
I may start learning some Dutch since I plan to visit the Freudenthal Institute of math education in October.
I want to be able to read articles on math education. Being a Scandinavian knowing German and English, that should be feasible with a basic knowledge of grammar and frequent words – we’ll see.
AFIK in Dutch (like in Danish) it’s much easier to understand the written than the spoken language. So my goals goal for speaking and listening are much less ambitious: I want to be able to say some basic phrases of politeness and other beginner’s stuff and have some listening comprehension.
For learning, I’ll use Laura Speaks Dutch and dutchgrammar.com
English
Submit a paper for an academic journal on math education
Improve my prosody
French
Improve vocabulary and listening skills (songs and movies)
Be able to have simple conversations for minutes, not just exchange a few sentences
Improve reading comprehension, aiming at ability to read texts in my academic field
German
Improve my listening skills: Be able to understand movies without subtitles first time watching
Visit Germany, get speaking practice – had too little in 2007
Russian
Keep working like now, not sure what I’ll aim at. It’s my least needed language in the near future. So I’ll state my goal in terms of what to do: Finish Ruslan 3, listen to songs for pleasure, work out what the texts mean.
Spanish
Reach basic fluency by the end of the year
Swedish
Keep listening to Swedish. Hear Jan Guillou's Fienden inom oss as an audiobook
Get Swedish TV working again, we lost it when they went digital in October
Keep working on vocabulary and pronunciation, have my pronunciation checked
Improve my Swedish grammar: Be more sure about conjugation and declension
Turkish
Keep some attention at it.
I want to visit Istanbul 2010 when it’s European Capital of Culture. By then I’d like to have an intermediate level in Turkish.
2008 I’ll do some chapters from TY Turkish conversation. I'll probably not finish before 2009.

Well I only study one language, Korean, I'm only really a beginner still but my goal for the year is 'practical fluency', that is i want to be able to speak comfortably with native speakers on a reasonable range of subjects and be able to follow Korean speech for TV and radio. Literacy is a goal too but i will guess that anything beyond a pretty basic literacy will take more than a year.

I divide my goals into 3 catagories: Expected, Ambitious, and Bonus
Expected
Spanish: Attain a level of basic fluency (equivelent to ACTFL Superior Level) and test at the superior level in an Oral Proficency Interview (take test in July of 2008). Have an active vocabulary of 6-10,000 words.
French: Attain a level of basic fluency (equivelent to ACTFL Superior Level) and test at the superior level in an Oral Proficency Interview (Take test in January os 2009). Have an active vocabulary of 6-10,000 words.
Ambitious
Arabic:Attain a level of basic fluencyin Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (equivelent to ACTFL Superior Level) and test at the superior level in an Oral Proficency Interview (Take test in January os 2009). Have an active vocabulary of 3-5,000 words. Be able to read and write in the Arabic script. Have intermediate understanding of written and spoken Modern Standard Arabic.
Bonus
Complete the Pimsleur Courses for Thai, Korean, German, and Portuguese.
I know I can accomplish the expected goals. The Ambitious will be much more challenging, and the bonus is just that, bonus accomplishments.

Mandarin Chinese
Memorize a lot more vocabulary and characters, especially idioms.
Shadow news reports that I've collected.
Read newspapers at least half an hour a day to increase reading speed.
Take the TOP-Huayu (aka CPT) in May and get level 6.
French
Shadow news reports and stories I've collected.
Focus on conversational fluency.
Japanese
Continue working on material I've collected.
Goal for the end of the year is to be able to read the first few chapters of the Little Prince.
Taiwanese
Work on Taiwanese for 3-4 months and see what level I'm at.
I have modest goals (I want to have basic conversational skills), so I don't know how much total time I will need to put into it.
And if I have time....
Russian
I love and adore Russian, but I don't have the time. I would like to finish off the Pimsleur program and the first year of the Princeton course, but that will have to wait until I clear off Taiwanese, and if I'm not too busy with Japanese.

I don't set any specific goals myself since I am learning for my own amusement and goals and deadlines would only make it feel like an obligation and a chore.

How do you motivate yourself if you have nothing to strive towards? Personally, if I don't have something that I'm trying to actively attain, my languages improve very slowly, if at all.

1) Polish
Continue...
i) ...work on the "Universitas" series and finish the course "Kiedys wrocisz tu, cz. 2" (C1) by end of 2008 (I'm about 2/3 done with the course "Z polskim na ty" (B1) and should be starting "Kiedys wrocisz tu, cz 1" (B2) in a month of so)
ii) ...reading and translating "Wspomnienia niebieskiego mundurka"
2) Slovak
Maintain Slovak knowledge via email, Skype, hanging out with Czechs and Slovaks, reading and travel. For the time being, I'm aiming to hold the line with my competence at the intermediate level (B1?/B2?)
3) Ukrainian
Work on "Teach Yourself Ukrainian" and "Ukrainian for Speakers of English" as time permits. For the time being, I'm aiming at most for A2 level of competency by end of 2008.
4) Estonian
As time permits work through "Estonian Textbook" and continue search for suitable self-instruction courses. I wouldn't be too bothered by year's end if my progress will be negligible since I don't forsee a lot of free time opening up in 2008.

I have 30-40 hours per week to spend on languages, at least until May.
Anyway, my main goal is to reach an advanced proficieny in Spanish (ie C1 Level)
My secondary goal is to reach a C1 Level in French.
And finally to reach B2 in Italian.
I also will read and listen to German often enough to not lose my current level.
My plans are as follows :
-FSI Spanish (1/2 of a lesson per day)
-30 minutes per day watching Spanish tv or listening to podcasts.
-Assimil French Adv (30mins)
-complete a second pass of French in Action, but this time listen to the exercises.
-Assimil Italian (20-30mins/day)
