The spelling Sprachegefühl on p. 263 (and again on p. 264) is a typo, no?

... and here comes Michael Erard in his newest radio podcast interview! I can recommend listening because he also explains things which are not written in his book "Babel No More".

A detailed analysis book review of "Babel No More" written by Yearlyglot on his blog:

My question to Michael Erard and other forum users about the term "idiosyncrasy":

Is only lefthandedness or ambidexterity an idiosyncrasy or is also righthandedness an idiosyncrasy? For me important to know!

I'm pretty sure lefthandedness & ambidexterity is the idiosyncracy because from a class I had we learned that over 80% of the human population is righthanded, and this trend goes back many centuries.

No one is sure why, though.

So only the exception is called an idiosyncrasy and not the distinguishing characteristic of the majority (for example righthandedness).

This is what I wanted to know.
