Judging by your last couple of posts, I'd say that surely you should upgrade your Hungarian level to at least B1. I consider my Spanish to be at B2 and yet I don't know if I would necessarily understand 80% of a theatre play! That's great that you have such a nice language exchange partner and nice resources to use. I would like to have a Hungarian exchange partner but they're hard to find here and a skype stranger would be very strange to me (I need to fight this fear though). I do have one friend who was born in Hungary and his mum speaks Hungarian and I might get to meet her soon and use my Hungarian.
I think you should be very proud of your Hungarian improvement this year. Your trips and course in Hungary, all the songs you've listened to, your massive improvement in understanding, finding and maintaining a language partner and maintaining your love for Hungarian despite losing your original reason for the interest. I've been reading through the Hungarian thread from the start (it's so long!) to review things Maxval told me and it's really nice to see what our levels were at the beginning and then think about what they are now. I hope we keep it going next year. By the way, I use the grammar book you sent me every day and am planning to take the test at the end of the 6 week challenge. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||
