he-he-he! The winter is extreme this year, isn't it? We have a city ordinance here that we have to shovel the sidewalks every time it snows. It's been snowing a lot! I really like shadowing but I'm never really strict about it. I just have to concentrate real hard an murmur :) - between shovels!

We've actually had a relatively mild winter so far, but I'm expecting Mother Nature to hit us with all she's got before the winter is over. About 20 miles to the west of us, they've gotten about 4 feet of snow, and here, we've only gotten two or three inches.
Now that I've said that, we'll have a blizzard overnight. =)
I'd rather listen-read than shadow, but I do shadow conversations. Just rarely longer than 2-3 minutes at a time, though.

I listen-read also, but I'm having trouble finding stuff that's appropriate for the level I'm at.
I just got a mail that my book isn't coming after all, so I might have to try ordering it from somewhere else.
In the meantime, I'm debating on starting HP again, à l'école des sorciers, since Qui joue avec feu isn't coming any time soon. I have a choice: either be patient until the play-with-fire-book comes and breeze through it, or get my hands dirty now with all the plus-que parfait and imparfait, not to mention probably some passé simple in the HP book -- *shudder* Not sure I'm ready to take it on.
in case I feel up to it, I've started a notebook (no smart.fm this time) and I've made headings for the tenses I think I'll come accross. The first sentence has already "avaient toujours affirmé" which is plus-que parfait, "had always affirmed" (I think). I write the verb + translation under the proper tense, so I can get used to differenciating them. (It will be tough - these tenses almost look the same to me at this point.)
Enough of that. Here's my activation work for the day, so far:
ASsimil Lesson 9
Sunja's French Mistakes:
WRONG: pour demander une nouvelle carte d'identité pour le fils, J.
CORRECT: pour demander une nouvelle carte d'identité pour leur fils, J.
PASSABLE: Cet enfant, quel âge a-t-il ? (not exactly it but it works.)
CORRECT Cet enfant, il a quel âge ?
WRONG: nous avons
CORRECT: nous l'avons
WRONG: sa extrait de naissance
CORRECT: son extrait de naissance
WRONG: je fais vous la carte
CORRECT: je vous fait la carte
OTHER ATTEMPS AT ACTIVATION (ME COMING UP WITH SENTENCES)
WRONG: je m'prends quelque chose de boire.
CORRECT: je m'prends quelque chose à boire.
Okay you get the idea. I tried activating lesson 10 but there were too many mistakes. I'll have to work on 10. Still going over lessons 50 and 51 of the Passive Phase but I've added on Lesson 52.
smart.fm: I've unenrolled myself in "Futur Simple". I have an idea of how that goes, now I just need to read to familiarize myself with it. I need practice with all the tenses and I'll have to go over Pronouns and their placement. For example: Would this be correct, I wonder..? je vous la fais - I make it for/to you

Bit of a change in strategy: I plan to start writing more. My work with Assimil will just have to be apparant. Listing mistakes and hours spend doing this or that is un peu difficile.
EN Today I learned that if I write in French there's the potential to make more mistakes but I don't want to stop here. I decided to stop doing a list of my mistakes with the Activation - it's not that important at this point. I have to put forth a lot of effort and I'll be busier next Monday... on the other hand I'll learn more, perhaps! I'll spend more time at Yabla and less time at smart.fm. That's the plan so here we go..

petites corrections :
FR: Aujourd'hui j'ai appris que si j'écrivais en français je pouvais faire des erreurs; mais je ne veux pas arrêter maintenant// or you could write :// mais je ne veux pas m'arrêter à ça
j'ai décidé d'arrêter de faire une liste de mes erreurs "d'activation" (I dont know what you're talking about here, but it doenst matter !!:D), ça n'a plus d'importance en ce moment. Il faut que je me donne beaucoup de peine et je serai plus occupé(e?) avec l'école lundi prochain. D'un autre côté j'en apprendrai plus, peut-être!
Je passerai plus de temps chez Yabla et moins de temps chez smart fm ! ça c'est mon plan. bon, on y va !
occupé(e?) : I dont know if you're a boy or a girl, so I cant really say if you're wrong here !!
Nice try though !! Keep up with French !!!
Bon courage !!

Thanks for the rewrite! I'll work on that some more.
Yesterday I kept thinking I'd have time to come in and do some journaling, but I kept getting interrupted. I even jotted down what I wanted to say in French, but it ended being just a little sentence, because the doorbell rang and I didn't get back to studying after that. Here it is:
j'ai ne pensé pas que mon livre viendrait. En fait, il est venu !
So that was it :)
I haven't gotten to read any of it yet. The plan for today: 1 hour catch-up at smart.fm, as-much-time-as-possible with Assimil, and lastly, reading Chapter 2 of Qui joue avec le feu. (I'm really glad I didn't have to tackle the tenses of Harry Potter! This new book is an easier read!

Hallo Sunja!!! Vielen Dank mir auf Deutsch zu helfen !!
Petite correction:
Je ne pensais pas que mon livre arriverait. En fait, il est venu !
But... well... I dont know if you're learning French from scratch, but this a really difficult sentence you tried to write (in terms of tenses, modal verbs, etc.)
Bon courage pour la suite !!!!! Essaie d'écrire un peu plus en français... Tu progresseras plus vite !!!

I just got back. I worked from eight to three. My head is full of ideas. I want to buy a house and there's a problem: that is, the house that I want to buy is very old and there's damage. I have to call a building engineer. I didn't read my book and I didn't do Assimil either.
EDIT: tomorrow I'll have more time! Now I gotta go study!
