Can't believe my post got erased again... Anyhow...
Thanks, Quabazaa, for your helpa dn sorry I didn't answer earlier.
Sorry I haven't posted lately, but I've been pretty busy as I started my internship as a translator in a hospital -I work for a research group).
Spain ws great, though very short... And humbling: I don't speak Spanish that well. I was able to get by, but I did try a lot of food without knowing what I was ordering... Which is half the fun I supposed. Also, impressive amounts of fried food in that region! Anyway C1 is not here yet.
To be honest, I haven't worked on languages at all since I cam home. Spain depressed me a bit I have to say, because I didn't get to speak all that much. And now I've got really nice weather, I've been going out for sports and socialising more (yeah!) and so I've had less time to study. Plus as I'm feeling pretty good right now (thank you, sunlight more than 4 hours a day!), I've been putting my available brain time to good use writing. So no studying but rather for good reasons...
In any case, I'll keep in touch with teammates and regulars, and keep you posted on what (little) progress I may make!

Hi, Good to see that you are back! Don't feel down, I have had the same experience when I felt I had learned so much, because I understood everything on the tape, and then when I was confronted with a native speaker, I understood next to nothing. It does get better, though.
I will probably be in the same situation next week, when I am going to Ukraine, but I have decided that instead of counting every sentence I do not understand as a failure, I am going to count everything I understand as a success!

Actually my comprehension is OK, though I don't understand every word when natives speak to each other. The problem is my speaking skills...

That will improve. If you stayed in Spain for a longer time you would pick it up in no time.

Read (very) small amounts in Spanish
Aguila Roja movie out, might be able to get a hold of it once it's out on DVD
Some free time and lack of anything else to do: might take up Russian again.
Thank to all of you for your patience, your encouragements, and for still following this log after a month without activity!

We seem to be in the same situation haha. I didn´t update mine for almost 2 months just
being too busy. However now I´m getting more free time so lots of time to review more
Russian, and getting further with German. Mais ouais c´... jsais pas, des fois difficile!
