Just memorize them by rote. Shouldn't take very long. Master these first, and the rest are easier:

ㅂ,ㅈ,ㄷ,ㄱ,ㅅ,애,에,ㅁ,ㄴ,ㅇ,ㄹ,ㅎ,오,어,아, 이,우,으

ㅂ, ㅃ, ㅍ
ㅈ, ㅉ, ㅊ
ㄷ, ㄸ, ㅌ
ㄱ, ㄲ, ㅋ
ㅅ, ㅆ

There's a simple pattern in remembering them.

For other vowels, they're just two vowels added together to make a new vowel, specifically the "w" and "y" vowels.

Listed below is the site I used to start learning to read 한글 (the two links below are the first two lessons of their "Beginner Korean" pages and those two lessons cover Hangul pretty well), but there are plenty of others out there, too.

All i did was watch both of Professor Oh's korean alphabet videos. She has one for speaking and one for writing. Then i did some review sessions of my own to keep them in my head.

This weekend was pretty slow, I'e been mostly been focusing Japanese grammar and
pronunciations. I can read a lot of Japanese, (or at least struggle though it) thanks to
RTK. But I need to focusing on forming and speaking sentences, so grammar study is pretty
important now. I keep delaying Hangul studying, I hope to get it done sooner rather than
later. Thanks for the links and lists though guys! I'll use them well!

I recommend this site for learning hangul:
http://www.learnlangs.com/RWP/Korean/index.htm
Really useful, many exercises and you can learn from it pretty quickly. I would recommend you to learn some intermediate kanji first and then proceed to learning hangul. Really, after learning kanji hangul seems like a piece of cake.

^^ Thanks for the link! Also I already know a good deal of Kanji already. With hangul the issue is putting new symbols to new sounds and not mixing them up with Japanese sounds.

It's been a while, but now its time to post a milestone! I finally learned most Hangul
characters! Its quite different and its a bit confusing to read right now, I actually
know very few Korean words. Over the past few weeks I've been really focusing on Japanese
listening and reading. Also I was able to talk to a fellow TAC friend regarding Russian,
so its been a productive few weeks. Now with hangul almost down good, I will start
learning more Vocab from both Korean and Japanese. However, Japanese will still be the
priority until it get it to a good intermediate level.Grammar is KEY (and kanji). :D

I'll be posting more frequently in the future as well, I want to be more consistent.

Please note that Hangul is not completely phonetic; there are some pronunciation changes (the spelling does not change) sometimes when one a certain letter follows another letter.

An example. ㅂ + ㄴ ==> ㅁ
Have a Korean friend/teacher help you with an example such as 감사합나다.

Some textbooks make a point of making you aware of these changes. There is a system, learn the system.
