So... Portugiesisch habe ich entscheidet zu lernen... aber das geht doch nicht... fast 10 Tagen, und jetzt habe ich keinen Ziel erreicht... Das Akzent (Aussage??) ist schlimmer als ich dachte...
First time i'm experiencing something like that!! Reading is ok, and I may even write a few sentences (not flawless, though)... but I find the accent more difficult than the russian one f.ex... I just dont know what to do!! Forse dovrei trattare di abandonnare il portuguese, almeno per qualche tempo... Non so che fare, mi sembra che mai parlero' cosi facile il portuguese... l'accento mi sembra davvero' inaccessibile come se non fosse adeguato alle parole scritte !!! Da un altra parte, sto per continuare a vedere questo "cartoon" in portuguese su YouTube... perchè mi sembra di capire meglio quello che ascolto, e quindi vuole dire che, finalmente, c'è qualcosa che è successo... Devo dire che ancora non ho studiato la lingua (neanche scritta ne orale...) Cerco di capire lo massimo soltanto ascoltando.. Aber letzes mal habe ich diese Seite gefunden : learn portuguese Die Anhören (???) habe ich vier mal gehört, aber ebenso ich wusste was darüber ging, konnte ich gar nicht mir die Wörter die ich hörte vorstellen... Pues, claro que mi alemàn no se la pasa bien, no? Me falta la practicà... y ahora, veo que no hay los accentos para el espanol sobre la teclada!!! Joder!!! A demain, si vous le voulez bien !! Heute habe Ich gar nichts gemacht !!! Vielleicht eine halbe Stunde anhören an der FunkDeutschland Radio and das ist alles !!! Sowieso hab Ich eine Menge von Vokabeln gekriegt mit der Comics und Zeichentricke .... Das ist ja was !!
Obwohl Ich seit drei Wochen meinen "Dutch Programm" begonnen, kann Ich ja gar nichts schreiben auf Hollandesich... Doch : Lieve Marjan, hoe maagt u het? Sinds de brief of het ongeluk van je moeder heb ik geen nieuws meer van je... Ik heb namelijk een baan als receptioniste bij een groot reisbureau in Amsterdam... Geweldig, he??? Wat ik vooral zo leuk vind is dat Bram en ik elkaar nu vaker zullen zien... Well... that's pure memory... I carved the text (a whole page) in my little brain by repeating and listening phonetically... when I got it, I look at the text and read it twice... then, I repeat it again and again and again... I guess there's no mystery at all !!! You have to work hard since we had no chance of being brought up multilingually!! But I found a little bit depressing not to be able to recognize a single word when listening to some "Reuters" audio reports on internet (well, maybe three or four, but...) Per quanto riguarda questa questione di imparare un testo repetandolo e unicamente cosi', in modo che, finalmente verra a imprimersi nella testa foneticamente, ho trovato questo metodo nella autobiografia di Elias Canetti... che, come lo sanno tutti, ha vinto il premio Nobel di letteratura... Da bambino parlava già lo spagnolo e il bulgario, dopo ha imparato l'inglese e con l'eta di 7/8 anni, la madre ha deciso che era venuto il momento in cui lui doveva imparare il tedesco... E infatti, l'ha imparato lui in 3 mese con il metodo della sua madre... Lei penseva che non si doveva imparare facilemente una lingua, vuole dire con l'aiuta dei libri... Quindi, dopo aver trovato une grammatica di tedesco, si è seduta con lui e il miracolo ha cominciato... Lei leggeva la frase in tedesco, lui la ripeteva e dopo lei gli dava il senso in inglese... Non aveva neanche un libro per ricordersi delle frase... e quidi ha cominciato a parlare tedesco con la mamma... dopo tre mesi è andato alla scuola a Vienna !!!! Entonces, se puede decir que ese tipo de metoda funciona muy bien!!! Pero tu tienes que tener alguien que conoce al lenguaje y que vas a tomar el tiempo de ensenartela, no?? He empezado eso con el griego.. Tengo un CD que se llama "le grec tout de suite" y no me recuerdo desde cuando, escucho ese CD y repetio las frases... Conosco bastante bien las primeras pero me faltan siempre las siguientes !!! Pero, la cosa muy interesante es que cuando escucho la radio griega, yo entiendo, no digo todos, pero al menos, reconocio a las palabras que he aprendidas !!! Y eso es muy importante, porque quiere decir que, cuando empezamos a aprender un lenguaje, se necesita aprenderlo con el accento !!! Por que no!!! Basta con eso !!! I'm really in a hurry!! I thought I would have "packed up" portuguese and romanian in one month.. but obviously it's a lot more complicated!!!
L/R is ok as for a method, but I really have trouble with portuguese accent !! I'm stunned of how difficult it is... At first, it looked like an easy language to master, I mean for a french speaker... The vocabulary part could easily be "grasped" without real effort since it's a latin language... But I never realized the "big gap" between the writing and the pronunciation. It seems I missed sthg with the accent... I spent hours watching this cartoon in portuguese (see beyond: 1st post) and though my ability to distinguish words is increasing, I feel I stumbled on a "big problem". Nevertheless, it should be said I'm improving my "listening ability". Maybe I should say a word about the method I'm currently following : so far (since four weeks) I've never opened a book nor learn a single word (I mean, in a normal way, that is learning vocab lists and things like that)... I'm familiarizing myself with the sound of the language... As I said before, I did the same thing, or quite, with greek - and still do ! - and it works, in my point of view, though! That is, I do recognize the words or sentences I learned by heart only listening when listening to the radio... that, for me, is the most significant achievement (first phase achievement!) As for the next part of the job, of course, I should focus on speaking... and writing! I know I did it once for Spanish and Italian, but it was 12 years ago and I promessed myself never to do it again since I was exhausted after a 1-month period working on the language 10 h/day... BTW I've no time for that right now... Maintaining - at least - his language ability : That's the worst part of the job, or let's say the most difficult one. I'm currently trying to maintain my level in 4 languages (english, Italian, Spanish and German) and trying to get a "fictive" B2 level in nederlands, grek, romanian and.. portuguese !! (some russian drills are welcome sometimes in order to break the monotony !::) So, I figured out, the best way - and the most simple way - being the radio, that I should listen to radio live broadcasts at least a 1/4 h each day in each language (namely English, German, Italian, Spanish, russian, greek, romanian, russian)... The bad part with the romanian radio is that they aired so much English music that it's sometimes difficult to catch three words of romanian, but so far, it's ok and I even fall in love with greek songs, maybe because I dont get the sense of them !!! As prof. Arguelles once said in a post (about kiswahili), he may have loved the language and first and foremost his sound because he had no idea of the meaning... It's true that once you catched the meaning of the words, the beauty of the sound "kind of" disappears !!! Never mind, I'm trying to keep it up !!! I' m planning to add arabic, but I didnt so far, since I so well know that once I delved into it I would do nothing but learn this language until the end !! Still learning !! Less time than before, since I found a job !! Hoorray!
PORTUGUESE : - still struggling with the sound of the language - I can read, but speaking is , right now, out of the question not to mention the problem of writing since I need to speak (at least a little bit ) to be able to write ENGLISH : - no new words so far, I really have to delve into a novel or sthg and stick to it until I master all the new words in it GERMAN : - still listening to radio and watching cartoons - comprehension is really better than a month ago but I do still have problems to speak SPANISH : - I should focus on learning more vocabulary (the key) ROMANIAN : - the accent is not a big problem, now let's start with acquiring a "conversation knowledge" and once again, vocabulary is the key GREEK : - still going on with my "sentences" (couldnt find some good texts, such as interviews with translation ) so I cant really master the language since I need "dialog" material in order to catch the "gist" of the language (??) 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Does anyone know some good web sites with greek dialogs translated (italian/englishspanish is ok) ??
I really need that to delve into the language .... The method I'm learning with are currently : - le grec tout de suite - teach yourself (but still didnt begin) I'm looking for "real dialogs", extracts from big interviews or sthg like that... Tambien estoy buscando para "lenguajes intercambio" francès/ espanol... Hace luego que no he hablado o escrito en espanol. Tengo que mejorar mi gramatica asi como aprender a exprimerse de una manera "mas espanola" !!
