Hi everyone !!
It's a long time since my last post ! Actually, I just happened to find a job as a french teacher in highschool.... and God knows it's a lot of work !!! All these kids... God!!
So, since then, I couldnt find a single moment to post... though I'm trying to keep "alive" at least my Italian, German, Spanish and portuguese by watching at least 10 minutes a cartoon in each of this language (cf. first post).
I must reckon my portuguese has really slow down, so did my romanian!!! Shame on me!!
And I'm not talking about greek !!! Nothing since 10 days !!
So, I put the radio on when I'm correcting the stuff of the kids ... At least, it's some good stuff in order to keep up with the "passive ability"...
Now, I first thought about tackling CELI and WiDaF in July, but at that time I had no job... So, I really dont know if will be able to keep up with the target!!
Let's see!!!
ps :: thanks for correcting this post !!! I feel even my English has slow down !

Today's work :
Nothing !!
Well, dont worry! I blame me every day for my lazyness!!! I guess that being involved in a kind of "routine" work just doesnt fit me !!!
But something else bothers me: I dont feel the need to add another language to my list (except arabic, of course:))
And this makes me think something is going wrong with me!! Whenever I study a language, I'm always disturbed by another one... (what if I delved a little bit into cornic languages, what about a little bit of xhosa, oh god! I wish I could speek nahuatl one of these days... and so on, and so on...
I dont say it's the best way to keep up with a B2/C1 level in languages, but at least, motivation was there!!! But right now, I feel the motivation for something new "has disappeared in the haze" (or "vanished in the sky"?// "vanished in thin air"?-> which one is the best btw ?::))
So, right now, my ability in each of my languages is as follows :
ENGLISH :
- B2/C1? I know I should work on it !! well... at least, I read HTLAL everyday !! :)
DEUTSCH:
- the YouTube count I was watching some cartoons at has been shut... so... I ordered the whole set of DVD's... and here I go... a whole set of cartoons "auf Deutsch"..
- comprehension is better than ever, as for speaking, well...I used to when I was a little kid... it takes some time to fresh it up!
ITALIAN:
- passive ability (oral comprehension) : 99,9% ... So I guess..
- active ability : W : some problems (lack of "active" vocabulary) : S: better than writing...
SPANISH:
- going back to it !!! It should be better by the end of March... BTW, watching "Zorro" audio latino on YouTube helped very much to "recover" from my "no-more existing Spanish" disease!
ROMANIAN:
- that's the problem !! Couldnt find any audio material that suits me.. BTW, I couldnt find any "dialog stuff" on internet.. Any clue, someone??
GREEK:
- It's time to learn some basics... After 6 months of passive laziness! (I used to listen to sentences in French and Greek and repeat them until I know them by heart..) Now, I have a basic "audio knowledge"!! Time to use it !!! BTW I begin to understand what they are talking about on the radio though I dont understand the details!
ARABIC:
- I always wanted to, but I was afraid it would take me away from everything else!! I'm heading for a try!! (is this sentence correct?? not sure!!:)
INDONESIAN:
- I will definitely go for it !! The TYSLF method has been waited for me for too many months now!!
CATALAN :
- I do understand "provençal", and I can read catalan easily... I should be able to learn it!
PORTUGUESE:
- I read it... I do understand it...sometimes!!! I cant write a single word!! As for speaking, well, nothing!!
I really do have a problem with the accent!!
TURKISH:
- Working on it !! with the "greek method" (see below)
So, a lot of work during the coming months !!

Still keeping up with "old" languages:
- watching YouTube cartoons in Spanish, portuguese, German, Italian and english
- found a cartoon in romanian called "room 402" : since my level in romanian is still slow (nothing to compare with the brilliancy of ellasevia!) I really have hard times understanding what it's about there(well, it's about a classroom in a highschool but it's hard to follow!)
- greek : still going on with my "sentences" (french/greek) and the radio
Generally speaking, I used to listen to the radio a lot...
Some links to radio broadcasts
italian rai
greek radio
portuguese radio
russian radio

Hi polyglossia, I found the paragraph you wrote in Dutch a while back and here are some corrections;

Did you say you got the sentences from an Assimil course? Because the use of "u" sounds a little weird, especially since the the letters opens with "lieve + first name" and also includes "je moeder".

Hi Polyglossia.
Here are some corrections.
Today's work :
Nothing !!
Well, don’t worry! I blame myself every day for my laziness. I guess that being involved in a kind of "routine"
work just doesn’t suit me!!!
But something else bothers me: I don’t feel the need to add another language to my list (except Arabic, of

- active ability : W : some problems (lack of "active" vocabulary) : S: better than writing...

Hello polyglossia!
This is a link where you can find lots of cartoons dubbed in Romanian. If ”Copiii de la 402” speak too fast for you, try something for younger children such as ”Folclorul maghiar” (The Hungarian folklore) or ”Bob Constructorul” (Builder Bob). You can find both on the left side of the above-mentioned page, under ”Desene în română”. ”Room 402” is pretty funny, I remember it used to be my fav cartoon when I was a child, together with ”Viața cu Louie” (Life with Louie). I think I still remember all the episodes!
Or you could listen to Radio România Actualități, which mostly broadcasts slow spoken news or audio documentaries: direct link to stream
Would you prefer funny clips, series or movies in Romanian? So as to know what to recommend you :-)
Good luck!

As a matter of fact, I found out the sentence and here you are:
"Lieve Marjan, hoe gaat het met je? Sinds de brief over het ongeluk van je moeder heb ik geen nieuws meer van je."
So, there is no "gehoord" !! :))) I do remember the sounds!! I just made a mistake withe the first part: "hoe gaat het met je" an not "hoe maakt u het"...
So, you were right: there is no "u" in the text!!
BTW this is an excerpt from "le néerlandais d'aujourd'hui en 90 leçons".... Since I do have some problems reading it with "the perfect accent", I memorized the texts by hearing them which explains why it takes me so long to master it and to finally being able to write in "nederlandse taal".... But it's worth it... we'll see!!!
Thanks for passing by !! :))))))
