Best of luck with your new job! It's a wonderful thing that you can use your language accomplishments for work. I am myself waiting for the results of an application for a job I want very, very much, and I'm glad to see that you have had good news from your own!

Well I came here to ask you if you we're watching 'Borgen'? But I may as well congratulate you too =) Hope this is
not only a rewarding job but also a good chance to maintain and improve your languages.

Alexander, I don't know any Danish films at all.

Thanks all of you for the congratulations with my new job. I will have less time for my Skypies, though. But OK, I need the money anyway and will get the chance to speak foreign languages with customers.

The new job will be demanding, that's for sure! If I succeed, it will be a very interesting job!

I will also have to read technical manuals in different languages. I have already used technical manuals in English for work. Such manuals in Dutch are not a problem either because the technical terms in Dutch/English are often the same. But the technical language in French is already significantly different and technical texts in Italian or Spanish I have never read, so I can't estimate those two languages yet. The technical training will be in German, so I need to read user manuals in other languages to aquire vocabulary. My Dutch friend told me that it's not difficult to find technical manuals as pdf-files on the internet.

And I will have to switch languages for this job. Generally I have got this ability, but I will ask my Skypies to practise an extra dosis of language switching with me.
