I'm in with Esperanto...studied it about 2 years ago, but didn't get very far. It should be fun to get back into it.
6WC, here I come!

I opened a sepaate thread about Tadoku.
BTW, originally it was said that the Tadoku months are January, April, July, October, and the 6 week challenges will be in February, May, August and November. But now it says on the Tadoku blog that the months will be January, June and October. Does this affect the 6WC?

Fabricio, that's fine. B1 is the upper limit for sign-ups.

for some things like Twitter and Anki, it's difficult to divide the time by
language, can I just count them all as *multilingual*, tagged as a language I'm not
studying? which one to choose if to avoid spoiling the stats for those actually
studying it? is there a list for which tags will work? |
|
|
If you open a deck and go to Tools > Graphs, Anki can actually show you how much time
you spent on that deck on each day in the past week or so. However, if you prefer
tagging multilingual, you could use #ie (Interlingue - not Interlingua) or any language
that is not your target language. There are no global stats by language yet, only
target/non-target, so that's all that matters. For language tags, all 2-letter language
codes work and I additionally created a few on request e. g. Nahuatl, Ancient Greek,
ASL, Cantonese. For other tags, #vocabulary #Anki #TY_9 or the like, you can use
whatever you want, the bot picks up on all of them. Just be consistent in order to be
able to extract neat stats afterwards.

I know the creator of the Tadoku challenge and I originally set the 6WC schedule in a
way so that it wouldn't clash with the Tadoku but complement it. Now they've gone and
changed their schedule for this year without talking to me, and they're still not sure
when they
might have smaller Tadoku challenges, so I cannot help it if the times clash.

Signed up studying French. I was going to save Michel Thomas for the 6wc, but I actually started it on Monday. Couldn't resist starting!
I have booked ferry tickets for a family trip to France and Belguim for this summer, so I really want to work hard at French. I have been learning for 6 months, but I'm a raw beginner still, IMO. This is the perfect time to kick start my French studies in preparation for being the family translator!
Is there going to be a dedicated thread for those studying French in the 6wc?

How can one change the language chosen to participate in the 6 week challenge? I originally signed up for French,
but I realized it would be better for me to focus on German. If anyone could point me in the right direction or help
me out, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi, I'm in for Japanese. Still deciding on either Twitter, or here on the thread, but
will make that decision in a couple of hours. But I'm in. I'm a student, but I can get in
a fair number of study hours.
If I do want to tweet, should I just post on my Twitter, or is there a place I have to
register first? I'm new in this, so I'm not sure. If I decide to do the posts here and
not Twitter, I should just post here everyday, right? I don't really understand what to
do exactly, even though I did read the article posted on the 6WC. Thanks!
