Important Edit! 12-12-12 Please vote for how we will be dividing our Romance teams:

Copy and paste the URL into your browser's address bar and please only vote once.
So I decided to go ahead and get the ball rolling on the official team log for the
Romance team. This does not by any means imply that I think I am a "leader" or "in
charge"; I'm just excited to get started. However, if no one else appears to be
"leading", I'll try to be as much leader as we need.
To begin, it looks like there are a few items that need to be addressed as a team.
First of all, what is our team name going to be? And aside from that, who are all of
our members? Please post here to introduce yourself: tell us your name, a little about
yourself personally, your native language and other proficient languages, and what
language you will be focusing on as this year's challenge. If possible, please post a
link to your personal log, and I will try to update this post as sort of a
roster/directory for this team. I personally would also like to see a Skype
meeting/conversation group, if that is at all possible.
If this is not your first year doing a TAC, please consider sharing your past
experiences and any suggestions you might have that you found helpful in your previous
TAC(s). If this IS your first year, please share any thoughts or goals for the team in
general.
This will be my first year participating in the TAC, and I really hope that it turns
out well. Hopefully as a team we will be able to share useful experiences and guide
each other in our studies.
Remember that, as with everything in life, what you get out of an endeavor is equal to
what you put in. If we all have clear goals about what we want to achieve this year and
put in consistent effort, we can make this a very productive year!

I'll start with some of my info. My name is Erica. I'm 23, and I speak English and
Spanish. I will be focusing on French this year, and a bit on Arabic (we'll see how
this goes, I have dual membership ATM). I'm currently attending college pursuing a
degree in Plant Sciences; studying languages is a hobby for me. I do have Skype
(ehernandez4189) so if you'd like to add me, feel free.
This is my first year doing a TAC. I hope that I will be able to practice French
conversation with my team mates and possibly guide others in the Spanish studies if any
difficulties arise. I don't have any clever suggestions for team name, though I saw
"Bistro" suggested in the main TAC thread.
My log can be found here: http://how-to-learn-any-language.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?

Thanks for starting the team log, Erica!
My name is Josh. I'm 24, and I'm a graduate student, studying international commerce and policy. I'm a
native speaker of English and Estonian. I'm a low-intermediate speaker
of Spanish and an advanced beginner in German (though it has been an eternity since I've done anything
with German, so I'm very rusty). I'll be focusing on Spanish and German in 2013 (I'm also in two teams:
this one and the Germanic team.)
I'll be spending the first month of the new year in Ecuador, so I'll be able to kick start my Spanish learning
for the year! My goal is to get conversationally fluent by the end of the year. I want to significantly
increase my vocabulary and comfort while speaking.
I also have skype (josh-israel). Feel free to add me! If you do, please include in the message that you're in
our TAC team, just so I know :)
I'm a first-time TAC participant, so I'm looking forward to this!

I was waiting for someone to start this thread!
I'm Connor, and I'm currently doing my GCSEs, so if I've worked it out correctly, I'd be
in freshman year of high school. I'm a native speaker of English, and will be doing
Spanish, but maybe a bit of French this year. I am a complete beginner in Spanish and
have a tiny knowledge of French. This is my first year of doing this challenge. I have
absolutely no idea where I want to get to this year, just somewhere!
I'll try and post a link to my log, once I make it.

Thanks for starting the log deadscreen. My name is Liam, I'm 20 years old and living in
Dublin Ireland, but I'm from the west coast. I'm in the last year of my college course
so this time next year I'll be a qualified primary school teacher! Native speaker of
English, and advanced in Irish. My mother's side of the family are all native Irish
speakers but we(my siblings) weren't raised with Irish unfortunately!
This is my first time taking part in the TAC and so I'm not too sure of what to expect,
but I'm happy to have the chance to share information with fellow learners and so I'm
sure it'll be a great experience! I will be focusing on French this year, though I'll
also be part of the Celtic team.
I'll update my log shortly and will add a link here.

I was also waiting for someone to finally start this thread, I'm simply too shy for that! hahah. My name is Vinicius, 20 years old. I'm a native Portuguese speaker, so perhaps I could help anyone learning the language. I have a decent command of Spanish, even though I'm not studying it.
I'm currently learning Italian, which will be my main TAC language, and French (for the Assimil Experiment). I plan to stick to Italian and my goal is B2+. I hope that's reasonable, since I think I'm at an intermediate level now. I'll maybe toy a little with Turkish and Mandarin, but Italian will definetely be my main language.
It will be my first TAC, even though I'm a member of this forum for almost three years now. Let's see how far I can get. :)

Thanks for creating the team tread!
Just checking in and confirming my participation with the team. French will be my focus on this team. I will be creating my learning log at some point in the next 2 weeks and link it back to this thread. This is my first TAC and I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning.
cheers

Hello everyone! =)
My name is Fabricio, I'm a 24 years old Brazilian computer engineer/programmer living in São Paulo.
My native language is Portuguese, but I also speak English and Italian at an advanced level, intermediate Russian and Spanish, pre-intermediate Dutch and beginner French.
My main focus on the Romance TAC team is with French, since I started learning it for the Assimil Challenge and the November 6 Week Challenge. Since I already speak some other romance languages, French is actually easy for me in terms of vocabulary and grammar. Italian helps me a lot, especially with the grammar (for example, Italian has an equivalent to the "passé composé", which is something the other languages I know don't have).
I'm up for the Skype meetings whenever you guys want! My account is facarraro
Also, this was my log for the TAC 2012 and I'll keep using it this year.
Bonne chance à nous! =)
EDIT: Added my Skype account!
