For a team name, I suggested Bistro in another thread. This French word comes from the Russian быстро (quickly). For some odd reason, the Polish word, intryga, from French intrigue, also springs to mind. Perhaps we should steer clear of the Italian-Russian word, фиаско (fiasco). :-)

I like Bistro. But I think we should keep the English spelling. My email doesn't like non-Latin characters, so it's hard to read what thread a new post is from.

Even the Russian team is spelling its name with the Latin alphabet. And since the rest of us are learning
Slavic languages that use the Latin alphabet it wouldn't be good for team spirit to use Russian Cyrillic.

What about cool diacritics? I sure love them:)))
IDK, it would be great to find a word that has little or no presence outside the Slavic/Romance languages :P
Do y'all still remember the "numa-numa" song in Romanian? Its correct name is Dragostea din tei (love from the linden trees), and dragoste is obviously Slavic.
Or if it's too long we could be Team Prieteni (Friends) :))))

I'm happy to stick with the Latin alphabet for the team name. I've found Cyrillic doesn't always render correctly in some browsers, unless you set your regional settings to Russian, Serbian or Bulgarian.

I like that team name. For diacritics, how about the Czech, Přátelé (Friends).

Aww this looks prettier than the Romanian version tbh:)
Ohhh and I just saw that nebunie 'madness' has a Slavic origin too:D
Any other picks from here? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_influence_on_Romanian

How about Super Friends? Croats love describing things as super and it's a reference to the old cartoons
who annihilate evil. Although I'm not sure what it is that we're annihilating.
