Serious with Spanish, flirting with French. (I would have liked to call the log this, but it seemed to be to long)

Inspired by so many serious language learners on this forum I have decided to start a log about my Spanish learning. I will try to write it mainly in Spanish. But first I will post the language goals that I posted in the “language learning goals for 2013” thread.
I still stand by them, though I do not really believe that I will get around to German this year.

Spanish:
Decide on which intermediary course I want to use and finish it. Finish Harry Potter 1 and read more books on around that level(suggestions?). Move to a place where I can get better internet access, then go crazy with telenovelas and movies. Maybe start using Skype (That won’t be easy for me, I’m introverted, and shy about speaking a language, when I know my accent is probably horrible) The ultimate goal is to get the language to a level where maintaining it is easy.( reading interesting books, listening to real radio etc.)

French:
Lately I’ve gotten this weird feeling that I want to know at least some basic French. I blame it on this forum. :-)

German:
I plan to revive the German I learned in school, someday. I’m not sure if it is going to be in 2013 though. I think it will depend on my progress in Spanish.
I am still not sure how my brain will cope with me trying to teach myself two (or more) languages at a time. But I guess I won’t find out unless I give it a try.

Edit: Danish: Keep helping people learn it. It is fun and interesting and it lets me see my native language in a new way.

Vale! Voy a empezar.

-Escuchar "Showtime Spanish"(radiolingua.com) y "News in slow Spanish"(www.newsinslowspanish.com)
- usar Anki
- Ver videos nuevos de Sr. Jordan(Tontitofrito) en YouTube.

Great. Good luck. Which courses are you considering doing? I too am an intermediate and I am doing Assimil's Using Spanish. It seems very good. I like your motto and your idea to update your log once a week. I found skype somewhat challenging at first, but once you find a good partner or two it really becomes useful.

Wow, you're doing great, Tilia! It seems like you just started yesterday! I have a couple of suggestions that may be of help to you.

Global Voices Online has a way to find topical articles in Spanish and translated to Danish- for example: La presión social paraliza desahucios temporalmente en España and the same article in Danish here: Socialt pres sætter en midlertidig stopper for husudsættelser i Spanien

You can make your own bilingual texts for study by creating a word (or open office) document and inserting a two column, one row table. Copy and paste the TL into the left column and then do the same for the right-hand column. You'll have your own bilingual Dansk-Español text.

I would also suggest that you try Veinte Mundos Listening/Reading Online Magazine for Spanish Learners. The articles are labelled "intermediate" or "advanced" and have free, downloadable, mp3's of the text read in very clear Spanish. You can mouse over underlined words for a definition and usage explanation.

Another good resource for you would be the Centro Virtual Cervantes Aveteca which has 52 lessons in B-1 in a multimedia format- all monolingual Spanish.

Thank you for the links iguanamon. They seem very useful. And thanks for the encouragement.

@James29: Thanks. I consider: Perfect your Spanish (TY), that I can get from the library. I also consider some courses that have Danish as the base language, but I don’t know if they are any good. Maybe I will just try to borrow them all from the library and see if I like any of them. If I want to try Assimil, I will have to buy it, and I am not sure that I will like it, though I have noticed that it has many fans.

Semana 2

Quiere dicir “always ready!” y “always smart!” ambos. Verdad..? Genial!

Ay! Eso no fue fácil!

I am still very confused with the subjunctive and the past tenses, so I’m sure there are many mistakes. I suppose writing about my week is good past tense practice.
