Here begins (officially) my 2015 French language learning log.

My goal in 2014 was to make it to C1 which meant I'd have to stop procrastinating and
get my act together. I certainly stopped procrastinating 98% of the time, but wow did
I underestimate the work required to get to C1! I estimated my level at the start of
2014 as B1, and I managed to officially proven/recognised by passing a B1 exam proving
so. But I didn't go beyond B1. However, it did certainly prove to be a very studious
year in which I my goals were revised given that I wanted to predominantly make my way
through a bunch of the very numerous courses I own in French with an aim to eventually
make it to C1/C2 some day in the distant future...

-------------------------------------------

My goals for French for 2015:
Be consistent in learning French throughout the year (don't procrastinate/waste time)
Continue making my way through my French courses as my main method of study
Sit a B2 exam at the Alliance Française

CURRENT MATERIALS
Pimsleur French IV (audio only course)
Rocket French Premium Plus (audio only course)

Assimil New French with Ease (currently leçon 81)
French in Action (currently leçon 10)
Fluenz French (currently level 3, leçon 20)

I have a massive amount of French courses. I will provide a list of the courses I have
completed as I complete each one and add to that list.

I'm also participating in the Super Challenge in French. My aim was to do a double SC
but that's not going to happen. SC activities for 2015 will not be so regular for me
as they will basically be 'fillers' used when i'm wanting to watch something or when
i'm wanting to read a little of a book here and there. Meaning my main study time will
not be taken up by SC activities as they did from time to time in 2014. My main aim is
to progress further through the courses. I enjoy this method and it seems to keep me
motivated lately.

Edit: 2014 I was on French 2ème (the second French team). 2015 I will be on the one
French team. I'll be co-leading the team with Jeffers with some assistance possibly
provided by luke and Mohave. Jeffers has taken the reigns so far as I've been a little
tied up with visiting family. Thanks again Jeffers!

Just a brief update...

The flashcards wars had reared its ugly head again. A battle has flared up on the
distant south coast... bla bla... I'm having 'issues' again. So this time I thought
well really short on time i'd just go over some of the Pimsleur IV lessons and Rocket
French Premium Plus and type in some new words to my flashcard deck including example
sentences. I'm running into the same trouble that I was having a while back - it takes
too damn long! I type them in fast, but I look for examples in my dictionaries and
copy and paste them but it still just takes a long time. My problem with French is I
am SUPER ANALYTICAL. On the plus side that means my accent and tone is excellent, on
the down side - has anyone else ever studied well over 1000hrs and not yet passed a B2
exam? I know I know I asked for this, just sharing guys, not necessarily requiring a
solution here, just a little update is all.

Peace up, get your face on, for realz

Given the stupid realization again that I have a seemingly unsurmountable number of
courses to get through and I'm plodding along as slow as an over analytical snail with
7 broken legs, I decided to change the name of my log to reflect my hesitant
adventure, which I know many find rediculous (prob because it is) and i'm banging my
head against a (softish) brick wall trying to prove (mainly to myself) otherwise -
frankly I just find this really motivation - trying to get through all these courses.
After adding Assimil's French Without Toil to my list I am now officially refusing to
add any more courses to my collection until (if this ever happens) I complete them
all... ahahahaha ahahahaha... (evil insane laugh). I have previously compiled this
list, but given the new year, my desire for attention (should've been an actor), and

I always knew you were crazy, and now your thread title proves it. If it's written on the internet you know you can trust it because the internet was invented by Al Gore.

Since you are such a steady worker, it might help you to put in brackets an estimate of the number of study sessions you think each course will take you (based on past experience with similar courses).
