Jag lyssnade på Blodspår idag.
De nya orden som jag har hittat:
I have written the examples on my own. So take care of mistakes.
en kropp – Körper – body
Plural är kroppar.
Det ligger en kropp under trappan. – There is a body under the stairs.
en päls – Pelz – fur
Plural är pälsar.
Jag klär mig i päls på varje vinter. – I wear fur in every winter.
ett trappsteg – Treppenstufe – step
Jag hoppar alltid över ett trappsteg.
I always jump over s step.
sopor – Müll – rubbish, waste
“sopor” är pluralformen. Ett annat ord för ”rubbish” är avfall.
Det är också ett ett-ord.
Det finns för mycket sopor. – There is too much waste.
En grammatik anmärking: In general use ”många” for countable words. (apples/äpplen, books/böcker)
“Mycket” is used for uncountable words like “snow/snö” or “food/mat”.
The German word for “mycket/många” is “viel”.
viel Schnee – mycket snö – much snow
viele Äpfel – många äpplen – many apples
läskig – gruselig – scary
Jag gillar att läsa läskiga berättelser. – I like to read horror stories.
en kista – Truhe, Sarg – coffer, box
Kistan var tom. - The coffin was empty.

Känner ni Hälge? Hälge är en älgfigur av Lars Mortimers. Du kan titta här på Hälge
Egen text översättning
1.
A
Forlåt att jag sa det där om din näsa, Gullan!
I’m sorry that I said something about your nose, Gullan!
B
Sniff!
Snort!
2.
A
Är du fortfarande lessen?
Are you still sad?
B
Sniff! Nä! Jag är förklyd!
Snort! No! I’m sick!
3.
Vänta! Jag är snart tillbaka!
Wait! I’ll be back soon.
4.
Här! En näsduk!
Here! A handkerchief!
Anteckningar
- Gullan: The verb ”att gulla” means to cuddle. Gullan is the name or pet name of the other elk. Hälge älskar Gullan, men Gullan avfärder Hälge igen och igen.
- Lessan: ”lessen” is an alternative spelling of ”ledsen”.
English
My one little writing challenge goes well. Up till now I’ve written 11 entries and made 30 corrections.
I’ve recognized that I have problems with comma placement. No wonder I have the problem in German either. Another point is prepositions; I find them really hard to learn; I always have to look them up and if I have to choose between two, I’ll pick the wrong one.
There are many mistakes I can’t see myself, but if anyone point the mistakes out, it’s complete clear. I even know the formal grammar rules, but I didn’t use it in my writing correctly. Just need more practice.

Lars Mortimer is also the creator of Bobo which I leafed through as a kid.
Enjoy your Swedish studies, you seem to learn a lot!

@jeff_lingqvist:
Thanks Jeff, I will do my best, but it’s a long way until you can retire ;).
Bobo looks really cute. I’ve never read many comics, but it turned out to be a good start in the beginning. There pictures help to understand the context and only a few words in each. And these short comics have the advantage that you can read them att at once, even if you have to look up every word. I also use seriewikin to find new comics.

1. Sådär håller man inte pennan Zelda! Den är ett arbetsredskap, inget vapen!
Like this you do not hold a pan Zelda! That is a tool, not a weapon!
2. Kallar du dom krumelurerna för skrivstil? Nu skäpper du greppet och håller dig på den streckade linjen!
Call you that doodle a writing style? Now, ship* you the grip and keep you on the marked lines.
3. Inte en knapp i taget som en bondtölp! Dom kommer skratta åt dig på din framtida arbetsplats! Båda händerna över tangentbordet!
Not one button at a time as a bumkin! They will laugh at you in your future workplace! Both hands on the keyboard!
4. Nu för tiden skriver vi med tummarna! Kärringjävlar!
Nowadays we write with the thumbs! Kärringjävlar!
Anteckningar
2. ”att skäppa” is an alternativ spelling of ”att skeppa”. ”Skeppa” means to ship. I think take or hold would better fit in this sentence. Or am I completely wrong?
3.1. I think ”en bondtölp” is somethink like the German word ”Bauerntölpe”,(English: bumpkin). “en bonde” means “Bauer” (farmer/peasant).
3.2. “Dom kommer skratta“ Why not „kommer att skratta“? If I fellow the grammar rules for future, it should be ”kommer att skratta”. I thought, I don’t use „att“ with “ska”, but with “komma” it is necessary. Is it a freedom of artistic expression?
4. I think ”kärringjävlar” is a swearword. “fan”, “jävlar” and “jävla” are used in swearwords/phrases. By the way “fan” and “javlar” mean devil/satan. The number “sjuton” is also used.
Kärring seems to be similar to “old bag/woman”.
I couldn’t find a direct translation for “kärringjävlar”, but I think the meaning is clear.

I haven’t done much this weekend. I was too busy, to write lang-8 entries. But I’m still up to date with my anki deck.

"skäppa" must be a typo, "släppa (greppet") (loosen the grip) would make more sense.
'att' is sometimes omitted, horrendous as it may look/sound.
'kärringjävel' - think of it as kärring/käring (derogatory for woman, (old) hag)+jävel ("devil", quite a handy suffix)

@Jeff: Thank you for the further explanations.
Swedish
I haven’t done a lot in the last weeks. I’ve made my anki reviews on a daily routine. This has brought my hours count to 14 hours in total. In other words: Since the fifth of January I have studies 10 hours with anki. I have also added all vocabulary from my Swedish text book. This deck contains 6860 cards or in other words 3430 words, because I always add them with both sides.
Sure, I haven’t learnt all of them. There are still 1700 new cards (850 new words).
I also completed my January Challenge:
Hej, mitt namn är Mareike och jag bor i Tyskland. Jag är intresserad av svenska i fem år. Jag har lärt mig svenska i ett och halv år. Jag besökte en kurs för ett år, men nu lär jag självlärd. I år planerar jag att lära mig mer svenska.
Hi, my name is Mareike and I live in Germany. I have an interest in Swedish for five years. I have learnt Swedish for one and a half year. For a year I took a course, but now I use self study to improve my Swedish knowledge. In this year I plan to learn more Swedish.

Hej Mareike!
Seems like you have had a good start on TAC14 (you've done way more than me!).
I love the sources you use! I'm listening to Blodspår now and I've just read some Hälge.
I think I've seen Hälge in the Metro newspaper here, if i remember correctly.
Keep it up!
