Thanks for the answer.
And I'm really sorry for doubling the link - silly me.
I'll visit this thread from time to time. Maybe I'll find some inspiration.
Btw. - for those at a little bit higher level, there's a nice book called "Жили были", where there's some informal Russian speech (of course there are more books like this, but that's the one I currently use during my Russian classes).

Пенелопа Николаевна, sounds perfect, I don't know how it can be offensive.
Josquin, fine introduction!

Hey guys! What does it mean that I felt more at ease trying my hand at the January challenge for Spanish before I even considered doing the Russian one (both teams asked for a self-introduction)? Keep in mind that I started Spanish only a week ago. What a long journey I’ve still in front of me before I can claim I speak Russian! :-(
Hi! My name’s Emme. I’m Italian. I love languages. I’ve been learning Russian for a year. I don’t speak Russian (yet) but I understand a little. I love literature and classical music. I like Russian composers: Mussorgsky (Pictures at an Exhibition), Rimskij-Korsakov (Shahrazād) and Shostakovich (Walz nr. 2).
Corrections are more than welcome!

I still haven't done my Dutch introduction, so beats me. I guess with Russian, I have
much lower expectations for what I can manage in an introduction, so I'm less worried
about getting it right.

Well, I’m surprised, but very very happy!
