(I hope this hasn't been posted before.)
I just found the Zompist collection of some of the weirdest phrases from actual phrasebooks, in both English and a phonetic approximation of the target language. Great entertainment value. The same website also hosts its own French-Spanish-German phrasebook... to be taken with a grain of salt! I often wonder who picks the sentences that are included in guidebook.
I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't include some examples from Making out in Arabic which is utterly useless, but definitely entertaining.
