I wanted to write 'вкус' in my Russian baking receipe, but I write Russian using the multilingual keyboard of Lexilogos.com, and when you press 'y' here you get 'ы' - to get Cyrillic 'y' you must press 'u'.

This is written on a keyboard where you have to press CF at the bottom to convince it NOT to write in Chinese. Then you get the choice between six writing systems .. in Chinese of course, and with both the simplified characters and the traditional ones. The one you should choose starts with sign consisting of a telephone line at the top where two birds are sitting in wait for the next developments. Below you see the horizon with a very big, flat rectangular thing lying on it (the setting sun mebbe) plus two curved roadsides drawn in perspective towards the lower bottom of the rectangular thing. I'm told that this means 'America' (or maybe 'America' is the sign after it, which looks like a garden table after a tornado).

The positive thing is that it apparently is possible to write in Chinese using a keyboard of the normal size by combining one out of three elements on each key in a specific order. I have not the slightest idea about how you use this utility in practice, but the fact that this keyboard exists is in itself a testimony to the ingenuity of the human mind.

I can recommend the magazine.
