Yeah but the OP is no longer a beginner. It's also their first Romance language and seemingly also the first foreign language. I love natural learning but you need to understand how languages work.

There are musicians that play music very well and they don't know how to read
a sheet music. They play "by ear" .
And there are people that read all the sheet music but they don't play music very
well. Or they don't play it at all.
And there are people who can read, write and speak fluently in a foreign language without having studied a lot of grammar.
It doesn't matter whether the cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice.
To me grammar is boring , if I have to figure out the rules it will take me ten minutes to say five words. Not all people's minds work the same.
There are methodical learners who need theories to organise their learning systematically. And there are intuitive learners that learn in another way.

I agree with Vilas.
My GF is polish and she learned Italian conditional sentencing without too much effort with a few examples/mistakes and no grammar explanation at all. In a broader way, it's mostly conditioning.

@ vilas:
With all due respect, generic expressions like "Forget about rules and grammar" and "The best way to learn a language is..." are bad pieces of advice.
Interestingly, then you write:

I fully agree with this one... which kinda invalidates the previous ones, wouldn't you say?

I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses............
You don't need to know how it's done an engine to drive a car well.
In fact I drive quite well but if you ask me what is a radiator I don't know what to tell you.
The same about grammar
I speak everyday English without problems but I am not very knowledgeable on grammar But I don't speak the Queen's English, I don't have to give a lecture at Oxford.
I speak the International Broken English : Globish the unofficial language of the world. Spoken by millions of people with thousands of pronunciations.
The purpose of a language is communication.

English is a special case though. Try learning Finnish with no grammar :-)
