The American actor Andrew Divoff is a nine-language-active-polyglot if we believe IMDB:
He is the celebrated actor behind the inimitable Wishmaster (I and II). He often gets parts for Russian speaking actors, such as on Air Force One with Harrison Ford. I recommend you put aside the somewhat tacky look of 'The Wishmaster' and watch it, it is much better than it looks. I wish we'd see more of him and that all actors were such polyglots. I wonder what made him decide to learn Catalan... After all, it's not such a popular language and, except Romanian, all his other languages have global importance.

Assuming that he had already learned Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French and Romanian, he probably decided to try and "complete the set" and learn Catalan :)
