I agree. I went through it once again less than a year ago (in just a couple of days!), and while it was not anything like the Spanish course (with Michel Thomas himself), I still thought it was pretty good. Maybe because I did everything in a short time (the intensity benefit).

I wouldn't say it was all gloomy reading - I always turn to MT first to hear spoken language as it is so slow event though French and Spanish are heavily accented - I've recently begun to change my methodology in the hope I can get into native like speech quicker.... which in itself can also be a danger - you yourself say that MT is a fair GOTO resource.

What you get here is to me a fair approximation of the committed language learners think of a resource: some people need to be part of a larger learning group and some people can cope with the one on one shadowing (without correction) that other courses give. Personally I like to hear another student make a Horlicks of the statement every now and again so I can metaphorically feel a tidgy bit superior - honestly in Languages it doesn't happen often.
