@Fasulye,
As it is on your title of your essay, the verb here is oynamak [ to play] and the noun here is oyun [play or game].
So let's check your essay:
oyun : play
oyuncu : player
oyuncusu : the player of "something"
oyuncusuyum : i am the player of "something"
"Something" here is "chess". So the sentence should be Ben satranç oyuncusuyum.
"Çok yıldan beri kursta satranç oyunmak öğrendim"
If you meant I’ve learned to play chess in the course for many ages”, the sentence should be like: Yıllar önce kursta satranç oynamayı öğrendim ”.
If your sentence is in present perfect tense, then it is not proper one to render in Turkish, it can be considered as “–di’li geçmiş zaman” or “–miş’li geçmiş zaman”.
Because no exact match for present perfect tense exists in Turkish. It can be stated somehow but it is related with advanced grammar rules, no need to be learned at this stage.
“Üç yıl boyunca (= 3 Jahre lang) satranç kulübünde satranç oynudum. ”
Here again the verb should be “oynamak” and the sentence should be Üç yıl boyunca satranç kulübünde satranç oynadım
“Satranç oyunu logik ve çok enteresan bir oyun, ama kolay değil. ”
There is no structure error here, but we prefer using mantıklı word instead of logik or lojik.
“Benim şehirde bir satranç grubu yaşılar (= Senioren) için var ve burada satranç oynuyorum. ”
Here the word order needs to be retouched and genitive cases’ suffix needs to be added and misspelling the word for “Seniors” you used should be fixed as “yaşlılar”.
So it is: Benim şehrimde yaşlılar için bir satranç grubu var ve burada satranç oynuyorum.
In English we use like in my city. But in Turkish, city noun needs to be added with possessive suffix for first person: şehrim. Since şehir is derived from Persian şahr when loanwords from Persian or Arabic are added with a suffix starting with a vowel letter, the word to be suffixed transforms to the original state as şehr and possessive suffix is added the word just like şehr+im. It's called haplology or Turkish "ünlü düşmesi".
Example: fikir (idea, thought) is derived from Arabic fikr so if you want to say my opinion you should say benim fikr+im.
“Ben en gençim, ama zararı yok”
When a word which ends with a strong consonant such as “ç, f, h, k, p, s, ş, t” is added with a suffix starting with a vowel letter, the strong consonant at the end of the word becomes soft as “b, c, d, g, ğ”. Because genç ends with a strong consonant (“-ç”) when it is is added with possessive suffix for first person +im it will be gencim.
Examples: kitap (book) -> kitabım (my book), dert (trouble)-> derdim (my trouble) etc.
Of course there are exceptions like at (horse) -> atım (my horse).
“Türkiye'de çok insanlar tavla (= Backgammon) oynuyor. ”
It’s better to use Türkiye’de birçok insan tavla oynuyor. In subject cases of the usage of community names like insan (people), it’s preferred to use the nouns as singular.
“Tavla daha oynayamam. Tavla zor bir oyun mu? ”
No error well designed and intended.
“Bu inanmıyorum. ”
If you meant I dont believe this then it should be Buna inanmıyorum.
“Satranç tavladan daha zor! ”
No error. And I agree about that chess is harder but more enjoyable than backgammon :)
“Siz tavla oyunu tanıyorsunuz? ”
Siz tavla oyununu biliyorsunuz? is better if you meant Do you know backgammon game?
Or you can simply say Siz tavlayı biliyorsunuz?

Hi Ertugurul, native correction and grammar specialist!
I will print this out and study your explanations in the library later. This works like a Turkish correspondence course: Writing essays - receiving the corrections - studying the corrections.
Thanks a lot and I will start studying this!
Selamlar,
Fasulye

Hi again Ertugurul!
I have just studied in depth your grammar analysis on "hangisi" and the correction of my Turkish chess essay. This is high level teaching, which is very helpful and interesting not only for me, but I think as well for my studypartner Johannes, who also reads my log.
You explained to us the difference between an "interrogative adjective" and an "interrogative pronoun" by giving examples of the Turkish language. I didn't know this distinction and I would assume that the German language doesn't make such a difference. I have never heard about German interrogative adjectives. What do German native speakers think of that? Of course that made it extra difficult for me to understand the Turkish clue of it.
Thanks also for giving me a repetition lesson on the Turkish genitive-possesive-connection (What's the English name for it, it's called "Genitiv-Possisiv-Verbindung" in German?)
The "hangisi" topic is now very clear to mee.
I have also studied in detail your corrections of my Turkish chess essay. I will now edit my essay and insert your corrections.
This was a fruitful study session, I am glad that I have time now for such detailed study.

Your hyperliteral translation is very interesting. I begin my study of Turkish and I feel: this is good.

Yes, I think that this is useful for many readers of my log who either don't understand Turkish or just a little bit.
But unfortunately today my private computer has broken down and I will have to wait at least three weeks until my Dutch friend comes back from his Esperanto holidays. This means that in the meantime I will only have very limited internet access. Such extra things as essays or hyperliterals which need a lot of online time I cannot write without using my private computer. So for the next three weeks at least I cannot offer such extra things any more.

OUR PRIVATE TURKISH STUDY GROUP IN THE LIBRARY
In our study group we had two main topics to deal with. First we spoke in detail about Ertugurul's grammar explantions on the topic of "hangisi". Also my studypartner Johannes says that interrogative adjectives don't exist in the German language. So my assumption about this seems to be right.
As our homework we had made a collection of sentences with the new words of the modules 2 and 3 of our book "Güle Güle".
Module 2: Parts of the human body
Module 3: Clothes
We read out vice versa our sentences and the other person had to check whether a sentence sounds correct. Of course, we cannot determine it absolutely, because none of us is a native speaker.
As homework for the next study meeting we a going to learn the vocabulary of the last modules 4 and 5.
Module 4: Office items
Module 5: Animals

Hi Fasulye,
as you told me last Thursday in the library, I now present these sentences of my homework, I wasn't sure, if they would be correct for a native Turkish speaker:
Ayakım büyük.
Palto iyi kış ortasında.
Bana kazak kışta lazım.
Elimin beş parmağı var.
Sol kulağım sağ kulağımtan daha iyi duyabilir.
Kırmızı gömlek hoşuma gidiyor.
Gece pijama giyiyorum.
Sol dızım lazen ağrıyor.
Birçok kadın külotlu çorabi giyiyorlar.
Kadın için etek yazda hoş.
Ayakkabıyı almam lazım.
Hava yağmurlu için bana çizme lazım.
Takım elbisele dans edibilirim.
Sabahları ağizımı yıkıyorum.
Tişörtle bisiklet kullanabilirim.
Insanlar bu zamanlarda geceliği giymiyorlar.
I would be grateful, if Ertugrul could have a look on it.
Good start in the new week!
Johannes

Merhaba Johannes,
- EDIT - My computer is in function again!!!
I hope that Ertugurul will have a look into my log until next Tuesday and be willing to correct your sentences. If there is a correction, please print it out (with one copy for me!) and bring it with you to our next study meeting on Tuesday.
Sag ol ve hosca kal!
