Religion kan være interessant selv om man er atheist. Det handler bare om perspektivet. Jeg møder oftest atheister som synes at troende har hul i hovedet og religion er kedeligt - og desværre ikke omvendt. Og da der er jo mange, mange, mange flere troende mennesker i verden end atheister er det jo lidt ærgeligt. Jeg synes personligt altid at det er spændende at forstå verden fra andre menneskers synspunkt, og i det hele taget verden omkring mig. Religion handler jo om historie, kultur, mennesker - morale, kærlighed, krig, osv. og verden er stærkt influeret af religion, på godt of ondt. Derfor kan det være spændende. Som skrevet tidligere i tråden vil jeg med glæde hjælpe dig med at finde det materiale du står og mangler, oversætte tekst, o.lign. hvis du har lyst. ofte/ofte n oftest/more often hul i hovedet/hole in head-the (about someone stupid) synspunkt/sight-point (point of view) tro/belief Osv.: og så videre/und so weiter influeret/influenced O.lign.: og lignende/und ähnliche Edited by Amoore on 08 November 2009 at 3:35pm 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

Anyway, religion doesn't interest me and in this language learning forum the rules don't allow discussions about religion or politics. Let's stay on-topic here in my TAC-log and only discuss languages, please.

OK, let's get down to languages again: - TURKISH! Today I started working on Unit 16 of "Einstieg Türkisch" and I want to get this unit finished on Tuesday. Besides this I had a very close look into my new concise Turkish grammar and I got the impression that I have already quite a solid knowlegde of the most essential parts of Turkish grammar. I know that I am weeker in the application of these grammar rules, when I compose Turkish sentences on my own, but my theoretical knowledge of grammar rules is already good. TURKISH SELF-STUDY: Unit 16 of "Einstieg Türkisch", Week 45 I have accomplished the next unit of my textbook Turkish plus that I have read through my whole new Turkish grammar "Grammatik kurz & bündig" and I must say that I am as well fascinated of the grammar structures of the Turkish language as well as it is presented to the readers of this grammar book. As far as I know, this is the first grammar book in my life, which really fascinates me. I can read through this whole book and I really understand everything and find it easy to memorize as well. This is a phenomenon! This is perfect! To give an example: This grammar explains a very important aspect of all Turkish verbs, which has never been explained in my textbooks so far. So I didn't know about it. Let me present this topic: In English and German the verbs have Active Voice and Passive Voice and there are Reflexive verbs, but Turkish verbs have more than that, namely 5 status: 1. Simple verb: görmek = to see 2. Passive verb: görülmek = to be seen 3. Reflexive verb: bulunmak = sich finden 4. Reciproke verb: görüşmek = to see each other 5. Causative verb: gördürmek = to make somebody see These 5 status are in the infinitive here and they can be conjugated in every tense. And you can also find verbs in one of these status listed in the Turkish dictionary. I have always seen and learned such forms as "bulunmak", but nobody has ever explained me the systematic behind this. So when I read this I asked myself: Why has this never been explained anywhere in my textbooks? And now a grammar topic of Unit 16: It's called "Einteilungszahlen" = What's this in English? Can you tell me, magister? je 1 = birer (in Esperanto: po unu) je 2 = ikişer (in Esperanto: po du) je 3 = üçer (in Esperanto: po tri) je 4 = dörder (in Esperanto: po kvar) je 5 = beşer (in Esperanto: po kvin) je 6 = altışar (in Esperanto: po ses) je 7 = yedişer (in Esperanto: po sep) je 8 = sekizer (in Esperanto: po ok) je 9 = dokuzar (in Esperanto: po naux) je 10 = onar (in Esperanto: po dek) In the "Test 4" Unit which belongs to Unit 16 there are always one or two translations German-Turkish. It's very typical for me that I have poor results in such translations. I don't really care about that because it is not my aim to train translating skills. The only thing I have to learn is to express myslef freely in my target language. Who really wants to aquire Turkish translating skills, should do the ASSIMIL course. "Einstieg Türkisch" has a very different concept from ASSIMIL, which is more customized to my personal taste. LEARNING STATISTICS & WORD COUNTS: TURKISH I restarted learning Turkish from scratch (= level 0) in May 2008. So MAY 2008 - NOV 2009 = 18 months of studies. When I count "words", I don't differentiate between lexemes and expressions, because I am a context-oriented language learner, so learning only lexemes wouldn't help me. Adding up all lexemes and expressions I get a sum of ~ 1500 words. 1500 words : 18 months = 83,3 words per month. For a whole TAC - year this would mean: 83,3... x 12 = 999,9.... ~ 1000 words (= lexemes and expressions) per year! So my yearly vocabulary learning quantity amounts to 1000 words a year.
