I visited my friend today and this inspired me to write a little Danish essay on this topic.

Besøgen på søndag
Visit-the on Sunday

I dag besögte jeg min veninde.
Today visited I my friend.

Jeg tog busen at hende lejligheden.
I took a bus to her flat.

We ate together bread with cheese and saussage and drank a cup-of coffee.

She has a dog and speaks good English.

Today we listened to an English CD.

Hunden spiste en knogle.
Dog-the ate a bone.

After some time took I the tram home to my flat.

PORTUGUESE DABBLING

From now on I will do some dabbling in Portuguese from time to time. In fact I have had more previous knowledge in Portuguese than I had in Danish, because I attended a course of Portuguese which lasted 4 semesters (= 2 years) at university from 1992-1994.My Skypies speak Portuguese and I have just discovered (by participating in a Portuguese alphabet game) that many Portuguese verbs in their infinitve forms are identical with the Spanish infinitives. So my choice has become clear that I want to learn the language seriously, only I will anticipate a phase of dabbling now, because I don't want to start serious learning before my holidays in Denmark in summer 2011.To make the difference clear I will call my posts about Portuguese "Portuguese dabbling" and my TAC target languages will remain Turkish and Danish.

PORTUGUESE DABBLING

For dabbling purposes I bought the textbook "Einstieg Brasilianisch" with 2 CDs today and I will listen to them on my MP3-player from time to time just to get a bit aquainted with the pronounciation and vocabulary of the language without studying it. My first impression of the project is that I have no connection at all with the country and the culture. I find it completely exotic and I have never had anything to do with Brasil. This is strange, because this is so different from Turkish and Danish. Anyway I want to get aquainted with both, Brasilian and European Portuguese. I find it an advantage to just dabble a bit for a longer period of time, because so far the whole country is too unknown to me that I perhaps would lack motivation for further study.
