ESP: Mallonga vojagxo en Nederlando
Mi estas nun kun Nederlanda Esperanto-grupo en Ermelo, Nederlando. Mi eksciis, ke en mia grupo estas du homoj, kiuj flue parolas la danan. Unu memstare lernis dum multaj jaroj la dana kaj la alia persono studis la danan kiel studfako en la universitato. Mi cxi tie faras immersion en Esperanto, mi antauxe decidis nenion vorton nederlande paroli kaj mi ver faras tion. Do tio estas 100 % Esperanto immersion!!! MINIJOB NL: Ik ben al weer terug uit Nederland, maar ik kom nog niet werkelijk aan talenstudie toe. Laat staan aan dabbling... Ik heb nu een minijob als baan. Het is callcenter werk in het Duits (helaas niet in het Nederlands). Een minijob in Duitsland is een baan met minder dan 15 werkuren per week. Ik kan er niet van leven en heb nog een aanvullende uitkering van het arbeidsbureau nodig. Ik zal vooral in de avonduren moeten werken en hoop dat de job niet te zeer mijn avondhobbies in de weg zal staan... SELF-STUDY TURKISH: Bölüm 6 of "Lextra Sprachkurs Türkisch, Week 14 My last study session took place beginnig of March. Typical for the last month was the fact, that I had no free weekends, an important part of the weeks was occupied. Besides this I started a minijob, so I also had to adapt to the schedule change. But I am now trying to build op a new study rhythm. To my new company I can walk, so no public transport is needed. I always used to do regular audio-training in the tram or metro. But now I have a bakery near-by where I can sit and study before work. With Unit 6 the course is getting more difficult. I needed full concentration to avoid mistakes in the exercises. The dialogues are still easy for me to follow, though. Not surprisingly, I enjoyed doing the exercises. Even when my "unfavourite" topic of clock-reading in Turkish was covered, which is always a bit tricky. But I want to present another grammar topic to the audience: The Turkish equivalent for European prepositions. I have to explain the feature, because the Turkish language doesn't have prepositions. For example: üst = auf masa = Tisch masanın = des Tisches (Genitive) masanın üstü = die Tischoberfläche masanın üstü-n-de = auf dem Tisch (Locative) masanın üstü-n-e = auf den Tisch (Dative) masanın üstü-n-den = von dem Tisch (Ablative) Here you can see that postpositions are used in combination with a Genitive of the noun. Here are some of my exercise sentences for my fellow Turkish learners (Where are you, folks?): 1. Güneş kremi kovanın içinde mi? - Hayır, güneş kremi gazetenin yanında. 2. Gazete kitabın altında mı? - Evet, gazete kitabın altında. 3. Top neyin arkasında? - Top şemşiyenin arkasında. 4. Kitap, kova ile kremin arasında mı? - Evet, kitap, kova ile kremin arasında. 5. Meşrubatlar şemsiyenin altında mı? - Evet, meşrubatlar şemsiyenin altında. To give a hint: üst = auf, das Obere yan = neben, die Seite alt = unter, das Untere arka = hinter, das Hintere ara = zwischen, der Zwischenraum On the topic of dabbling in Portuguese: For the time being I have no time at all for it. Although I still study also Turkish, I couldn't go on with the studying like you are doing it - well done, Fasulye! All those wonderful dialogs and grammar explanations, everything is so clear, but when it comes to thinking in Turkish, I fail completely. I thought that I probably need to go other paths of studying to tackle this fantastic language. But I don't want to spoil your log, therefore I'll soon update my own log.

You need not be frustrated, because until now I cannot think in Turkish (nor Danish) either. Thinking in the language will be the key ability which I need to achieve. With my other 6 language I was always in class situations and I could assimilate the foreign language by speaking with the teacher and my fellow students. Now with self-study I miss this possibility. I really don't know whether self-study will enable me to reach the activation of those two languages at all... Fasulye 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

If I remember right, you're in Danish with your first textbook. Do you really expect to be able to think in Danish after such a short time? Be a bit patient, I'm sure you'll reach this level.
Turkish is of course another case. But this beautiful language has definitely a very complex grammar and I assume it will just take more time to get to the thinking-level. At least I hope that :-) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Yes, sure I have studied now half of my first textbook in Danish. I started on 15 October 2009. And Turkish has a complex structure, which makes thinking difficult. Fasulye 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

NEW STUDY SCHEDULE From next week on I will work with a new study schedule. My minijob will always start at 16:00 h, so I will go to the bakery café and sit there for 2 hours doing language studies before I move on to my workplace. This can create a new regularity of study which replaces my study habits in public transport. I am looking forward to implementing this!
