CAT: Sempre he preferit la música clàssica instrumental, i en la meva col·lecció tinc música de l'edat mitjana fins al dia d'avui, peró molt poc de la avantgardism floridurat del segle passat - ningú Stockhausen, ningú Boulez, sols úna obra de Xenakis i una de Ligeti. Peró totes les sinfonies de Bruckner, Nielsen, Sibelius, Vaughan-Williams, les poemes musicals de Respighi i de Liszt - el romàntic (i especialment els finals del periode romàntic) és ú dels meus periodes favorits. Al contrari de Jar-Ptitsa em plau especialment la música enèrgica i grandiosa. Saps que u dels periodes més "heavy metal" és el renaixement? I la musica medievala he conegut el seu renaixement 'hard' amb grups com Schelmisch i Tolstafanz que tinc en CD. Tinc 700 casetes vells (10.000 minuts) i estic ascoltant in mod sistematic mùsica de Adam a Zemlinsky. Em plau l'energia del heavy rock, peró no accepto música vocal en la meva col·lecció - de loc! Que més puc diure? He tocat el violoncel, el violí i el piano, i he fins i tot compost la meva propria música - però no més (no havia ningú per a tocar les meves obres, i és idiòtic escriure mùsica que ningú toqui).
FR: D'ailleurs je me suis aujourd'hui plongé dans l'abîme de mon passé - j'ai relu un livre que j'ai acheté pendant la periode lointaine où j'étudiait la langue française à l'université d'Århus, où il fallait encore lire des oeuvres littéraires: "Le Livre d'or de la Poésie Française des Origines à 1940" (trouvé à l'arrière-côté de mes rayons que j'ai réservé aux belles-lettres). Je me suis mis à relire des chef-d'oeuvres comme Le Bateau Ivre de Rimbaud, extraits des Chants de Maldoror par le Conte de Lautréamont (Isidor Ducasse), El Desdichado et autres poèmes du pauvre fou Gérard de Nerval - poème que j'ai peint dans une periode maintenant clôse de ma vie - mais le livre ne contient pas mon poème préféré de cette periode: Le Cimétière Marin de Paul Valéry. D'ailleurs il existe une traduction norvégienne (!) de cette oeuvre, qui garde le mètre et le schema des rimes de la version originale, - existât-t-il un prix Nobel des traducteurs, j'eusse eu une humble proposition à faire à la commission d'expertise... J'ai aussi cherché en vain les poèmes de Saint-John Perse - je me souviens vivement des problèmes que j'avais alors à comprendre sa poésie hermétique et délirante. Parlant de difficultés: j'ai écrit des traductions de mots inconnus entre les lignes du Bateau Ivre. Et quels mots? braises, houles, quille, sillage ... des mots parfaitement ordinaires que tout étudiant aurais du savoir avant même de commencer ses études universitaires (mais c'était avant l'âge doré des listes de mots!). D'ailleurs le seul livre que j'ai jamais publié moi-même était une traduction en danois de Gaspard de la Nuit par Aloysius Bertrand, un autre de ces poètes maudits et (é)perdus qui vivaient une vie misérable en marge de la société parisienne sous le royaume bourgeois de Louis Philippe.
Mais il faut achever cet experience atavistique, pour garder ma sanité j'ai résolument fermé ce livre diabolique, les spectres anciennes se retirent lentement en grognant et dans les ombres de jadis je vois les figures de Baudelaire, Mallarmé, Musset et Verlaine s'anéantir après leur brieve séjour dans la lumière électrique de mon appartement - et maintenant il me reste la dure tâche d'essayer de me libérer de ce stile gonflé et prétentieux que représente la poésie française ... Me revoici dans la contemporanéíté..

OK, I'm back after my dive into the world of French poetry.
Jar-Ptitsa asked me which kinds of music I preferred, and my answer was: Classical instrumental music from the Middle ages until now, but not the mouldy and obsolete modernism of the past century. I have a special, but not exclusive prediliction for the music of the late romantic period. Besides I mention the heavy metal character of the recreated versions of the music of the late Middle ages and the Renaissance. But I only collect instrumental music, and therefore my collection can't contain the more contemporary kind of heavy metal. A principle is a principle.
And then I take the plunge back into the sick and fascinating world of French romantic poetry, which I have found in an old book bought during my student days (where I couldn't excuse myself from reading literature, as I can now). I have reread among other things the drunken ship by Rimbaud (who btw. dropped literature completely in 1875 and became a mercenary and slavetrader in Africa) plus works by Lautréamont, Mallarmé, Baudelaire and others. I also mention the excellent churchyeard-at-sea poem by Valéry (not in the book) and the even more amazing translation of it into Norwegian, where the original metre and system of rhymes is miraculously preserved - in my eyes that piece of translation is worth a Nobel price! And finally I admit (with red ears) that I once in my life have published a book: a translation of Gaspard de la Nuit by Aloysius Bertrand into Danish. But who cares? Bertrand is dead (1841), literature in general is dead, and I have returned to the real world to write about wordlists and other more relevant subjects.

Parlant de la musique ne n'ai aucune experience avec la musique classique. Ja ne l'écoute pas. J'aime bien la musique de pop - naturellement multilangue.
Par exemple en français j'aime les chansons de la franco-canadienne Céline Dion, qui chante aussi beaucoup en anglais.
En itialien j'aime les chansons de Eros Ramazotti, c'est un "cantautore" qui compose meme ces melodies et écrit des textes de bonne qualité.
C'est n'est pas étonnant que j'aime aussi la musique de pop turque. Tres populaire en Turquie est la chanteuse Sezen Aksu, je dois étudier encore beaucoup plus la langue turque, parce que dans le futur je voudrais comprendre ses textes turcs.
Ah, pour l'espagnol: Mon collegue de travail a laissé me traduire une texte espagnol du groupe de soft-rock Maná de la Mexique en allemand. Les CDs de Maná je n'ai jamais vu dans les magasins de CDs en Allemagne, malheureusement. Aussi le chanteur espagnol Enrique Iglesias me parait interessant, mais je n'ai pas encore acheté un CD de lui.
Mais je ne voudrais pas oublier la musique néerlandaise. Je trouve quelques chansons du chanteur Boudewijn de Groot tres interessante. Deux chansons de Boudewijn de Groot je sais meme chanter et jouer de la guitare: "Het Testament" et "De Noordzee".
- et specialement pour Jar-ptitsa le talent de langues et chanteur Belge Helmut Lotti. J'ai deux CDs de lui ou il chante en espagnol (avec une tres bonne prononciation de langue!).
I would find it too one-sided to listen to pop-music only sung and performed in English. The English language is too dominant in the pop music business!
Het spijt me, Iversen, het is alleen maar popmuziek. Maar zoals de Nederlanders zeggen: "Elk diertje zijn pleziertje".

I can make it short: At German universities there is a lot of academic freedom (I would say: too much academic freedom) and my own study discipline was really bad. But in the meantime I have worked hard on this weak point and it has improved a lot.

I agree: some of Schönberg's nice, but those others of the 20th century I don't like at all, but it's like a noise when you clean the kitchen. I don't know Nielsen, and I think that I'ev listened only one thing of Sibelius. Vaughan-Williams wrote some beautiful things, but I don't know very well his music. Liszt, I agree, I like as well.

It was very interesting what you told about the litterature and you. Those names are very famous, but I don't know about books or this things at all. I've read nearly nothing. Soemtimes I read a thing, for example Winnie the Pooh, but I don't read important litterature. For me it's very diffciult read a book or poetry as well, although the poems are usually short, I don't understand them. Also, I havne;t concentration when I read and in my new school it's allowed we listen music on the iPod during the lessons, for example when we read a thing, and this helps for sure but nevertheless until now I find read very difficult.
I feel not well today and I'm not in the lessons.

I don't understand why "alleen maar popmuziek"? Because the classical music seem more intellectual? It's possible to like both. I like very much some pop music also, for example "madonna" of Robbie Williams and many other songs, but I dont; knwo the titles or the singers' names but I like "Back to Black" (Amy Winehouse) as well.

Hai ragione! A dir la verità, io lo trovo ridicolo che i cantanti tedeschi, danesi (etc) cantano per la maggior parte in inglese - anche quando i loro albums spesso non si comprano nei paesi di lingua inglese!
(Communque, per quanto riguarda i grandi capolavori storici della musica lirica è stato molto dominante anche la lingua Italiana!)

FR/ENG: Celine Dion est en effet une cantatrice francocanadienne, qui a choisi d'adopter la langue anglaise pour avoir une plus grande audience. In English that's called a sell-out, but apparently the change has worked out extremely well for her.
And Jar-Ptitsa, those formidable French poets of the 19. and early 20. century did not care much about writing easy and accessible works - au contraire! Je suppose que même les Français ont des problemes avec certains poèmes de cette periode.
ROM: Am scris mai sus ca al meu vocabular să lipsească de echilibriu - cunosc relativament bine vocabularul imprumatat din afară, dar nu cuvântele autohtone (vechie). Metoada cea mai directa pentru ca să o remedia pe această situaţie lamentabilă cred ca eşte să scrie liste de cuvânte numai cu cuvânte care nu recunosc din alte limbi, - dar şi trebuie să evite cuvânte destul de rar sau învechite. Am ales astăzi 90 cuvânte: bătaie, băsică, bătătură, ... a bâjbâi, a bârfi, ... etc. etc. Intenţia a mea nu eşte să schimb stil peşte noapte, însă în cele de urma să căpătez in mod gradual un stil mai autentic românesc. Pe de altă parte nu doresc să vorbesc ca un ţaran medieval.
Stimat Lector - din păcăte nu am timp adineauri să fac un inventoriu complet de tot ce am facut astăzi - buna noaptă.

As mentioned earlier I have noticed that my Romanian vocabulary isn't small, but seriously unbalanced - I know enough loanwords, but too few 'homegrown' words. And of course the most direct solution to that problem is to make some wordlists composed solely from such old and inscrutable items as bătaie (thrashing, brawl), băsică (blister), bătătură (corn, horny skin), a bâjbâi (to grope around), a bârfi (to gossip), ... As you see they do signify quite common things and activities, and it is on time that I learn them. On the other hand I have to avoid learning obsolete or extremely rare words, - I don't want to end up sounding like a medieval peasant.
