Isn't there a diffrence between A間(に)B and AながらB? If I recall correctly, the

Also, isn't there a book meant to be between the two of those? And don't rely on the
translations without any explanation. |

I am going by the translations of the cards since I don't have the grammar books. As for your explanation.. I'm not clear on the distinction. Is there an example where you can say one but not the other?
*edit*
I did order the books btw. I agree that I'd like to read the explanations. Although they aren't really cheap... and I was wondering if I was wasting my money/time hehe. It really comes down to if I get the general idea and if I can see how the structure is produced.. IE what form of the verb precedes it etc. With that in mind, the finer points will probably come later as I see it used in context. But a good explanation is a good thing. So I ordered the books.

Anki is a great tool and really powerful, very customizable, but it does need some tinkering if you want to set it up just the way you like. I recommend reading the Anki manual, it's really comprehensive. You don't need to read all of it, at least not at first, just start with The Basics and then move on to Cards and Templates if you want to set up which fields show up on the front side and which on the back. I also recommend going through all the deck options.

と is the quotation particle here - does that make it a little clearer?

heh. I'm so used to seeing と with 言う that I didn't recognize it. So か is a question marker right?

That's right, the entire question being quoted would be 何が一番大切か

yeah I got that part. And the rest. Somehow those little particles that didn't have much effect on the meaning were kicking my butt.
Regarding Anki. I'll read the manual. I read about how to add media and was still clueless but maybe other stuff will click better. There's videos on youtube I know for anki. It's really popular. Anyway, I ditched the optimized deck in favor of the Core 2000 and 6000 deck. I'm not sure what the difference between the two is but the default for the non optimized version doesn't have furigana/kana on side 1. From playing with the optimized one I got the impression I'd have to go in and edit each card individually to remove the kana from side 1. Which I didn't want to do obviously.
I don't know how it orders the vocabulary if it's random or from easier to harder etc. But I played with it some and I seem to know the first 5 vocab words it threw at me so I'll assume that I'll know a lot of them already for a while. I'm gonna turn it on to 100 words a day until the words are new. I noticed one of the sentence and audio was taken from iKnow.

I'm going to work on finding a way to adjust the volume of a stream in android. No problem in windows...
its built into the system. Android doesn't reduce background volume of your music. Actually it seems to
do the opposite. Anyway I flew through the first 100 of this deck. I think ibhave 4 cards that will actually
repeat tomorrow. And that's cuz I hadn't seen them in a whipped and they weren't on the tip of the tongue.
This set is definitely ripped off of iKnow. Which I paid for so whatever. I think anki's srs is better.

The optimized deck comes in the Kanji Odyssey kanji order. Which means that you will learn words with the same
kanji and a different meaning together. The "regular" Core seems to have a some what random order as far as that
is concerned. There has also been some talk that difficulty gap between step 2 and step 3, for the Core available on
anki, is huge, so a lot of people have problems when reaching step three. On the official iKnow website Core has
since been reworked where some of the words have been taking out, or moved to a later part of the program.
