I was referring to Heisigs method. The fact that you did 220 in one weekend has motivated me even more than before :)

RTK is usually an abbreviation for Heisig's Remembering the Kanji.
I use this book too, and am almost finished with it (for the second time, I went too fast the first time). I would just warn you, that although it is easy to learn the first thousand very quickly, it gets harder. Most people find the last 500 or so to be very difficult. There are a lot of similar key words, plus those kanji just seem harder somehow. There might also be the kanji/Heisig-burnout. One does get a little tired.
Anyway, you shouldn't worry if it takes you longer than you'd like. Take the time you need to make good stories, even if you can't go as fast as you want. Heisig is great though. You really do learn all those kanji, fairly easily.
Right now, I am listening-reading to Harry Potter in Japanese. I find that I often understand the Japanese, much more easily than I expected, even the first time through a chapter. A lot of that is thanks to Heisig. When I see the kanji, I have a pretty good idea what it means, and since I hear it on the audiobook at the same time, I am also learning to pronounce them.

I'm glad it inspired. I have 229 cards due in my heisig deck though. This is definitely going to involve a few
hours every day to get through. I wold say that the first 200 or so kanji seem easier than the ones I'm doing
now although I'm hoping that's in part because I've been studying them longer.
Like that he gives you a story to use for the kanji but I'm often making up my own silly and shorter stories
myself. Mine are more visual. He days to keep it as concrete as possible and yet his stories are pretty
abstract. He's obviously a scholar though so I think abstract can work well for him.

I use this site for reviewing. It's basically an SRS, but you don't have to make the cards yourself. Also, people share stories there, so you can look at them if you don't have any ideas yourself.

doubled on me. Gonna take a nap and see he it goes.

Good luck!!
I am in the same boat as you, reviews are killer. I think I spend more time reviewing than I do learning new kanji :/ Just got to keep going to the end though, eventually the reviews will go down. (however they will go up a lot, before they go down lol )
Don’t get too worked up or frustrated with RTK. Just do what you can, understand that it’s a long term goal, and you will be alright.

Yeah I haven't completed the reviews the past couple days although I'm putting lots of time in. I guess I have
more of a life than I gave myself credit for. But I'm learning lots of kanji which is the main thing and that's
very exciting. I feel a lot better about Japanese now that I'm making heisig the priority.

You're making me want to crack open my copy of RTK again! I ended up getting bogged down under all the reviews
last time and quit around #850 or something. But even getting that far has made learning new kanji much easier
for me.
