Please forgive the self-promotion here, but for those who were unable to attend the Polyglot Conference in

Polynots vs Polyglots

Entertaining, enlightening, and educational.

A future career in language-themed stand-up surely beckons?

Absolutely no apologies necessary; I myself thought of posting the link (having come across it via the Twitter
feed), but hadn't gotten round to doing so when I saw your post. -Many thanks for the excellent (and
amusing) talk, and for sharing it with us!

Agreed. I hardly ever watch YouTube video clips, I watched that one with pleasure.

@Splog
Would you mind posting a script or something for re-reading? It takes less time and is less volatile. Or, as my granny would say: verba volant, scripta manent.

I don't have a script, but a couple of volunteers (including me) are creating subtitles for the video. We are past the half way stage with them now, and they should be finished in the next few days and then attached to the video.

Will the subtitles only be available for download?
I have no trouble understanding what you say in the video.

I think the idea is that they will be attached to the video, and also downloadable. They will also be the basis on which (I believe) others are intending to translate to subtitles in other languages.
