Pio tico is sweet and beautiful.

Iversen's summary of June wrote:
Jar-Ptitsa (DU): suggests that Fasulye should find an ergotherapeut, that can suggest some suitable job alternatives. Sometbody somewhere in an unknown place has mentioned the menial job of "vietsbode" (bike courier or messenger), but for Fasulye it might be better to become a language teacher - teachers can move around as much as they wish while teaching. Btw. the spellingchecker doesn't accept "vietsbode".

Fasulye (DU): Is seriously thinking over the suggestion to become a language teacher, but you need a diploma for that. The word "Vietsbode" doesn't exist, - use "bote" or "kourier" (with a 'k' ?)

it's not somewhere in an unkown place who mentioned "vietsbode" but it was Fasule (but she had editted it v-->f :

edit : deleted the screenshot

OK, I'll change the information about the biking maniac profession right away, - and here is a toucan called 'Pio tico' in Central America where it lives. But the photo is from Amnéville Aquarium in France:

Here is a Youtube clip with some "bike couriers", and here a whole Wikipedia article about that noble profession.

IT: Questo toucano e un uccello bellissimo!!!

Quote from Wikipedia:

The job is poorly paid relative to the risk and effort required. In 2002, a Harvard Medical School study of injury rates amongst Boston bicycle messengers determined that the rate of injury requiring time off work amongst the sample group was more than 13 times the U.S. average, and more than three times higher than the next highest group, workers in the meat-packing industry.[17] At least one bicycle messenger is killed while working every year in the U.S.[18][19][20] Eight bicycle messengers are known to have been killed while working in London between 1989 and 2003.[21] Because payment is made at piece rates, and cycle couriers often fail to file accurate tax returns, it is hard to get reliable figures for messenger income. A study published in 2006 stated that the average daily wage of London bicycle messengers was £65 a day, and that of bicycle messenger in Cardiff was £45.[22] The UK legal minimum wage at that time was £5.52 an hour.[23]

Iversen, as I see, these are not really good working conditions. Low payment and high risk.

Fasulye,

you better think about a different job. bicycle messenger's too dangerous, and anyway you're too old: those people are about 25 and they're men. I wanted to find my list for give some suggestions, but I've lost it, unfortunately.

Maybe you can work in a garden centre? It would be very nice i think. have you hayfever? This would be a problem with all the flowers. But, language teacher's the best for you, in my opinion, because you love languages, know them, and you have some students already.

I would like selling goods in a shop, if I can identify myself with the merchandise. Unfortunately bookshops(!!!) only hire people with a professional qualification as "Buchhändler". What a pity.

AH .. AHH .. AAAaaaaaa-AAAAA-HHHHHHHHH-AH-AH". A terça: "Aha .. AHa .. AHHaHAA .. AAAaaaaaa-AAAAA-HHHHHHHHH-AH-AH". E assim terminou o concerto.

GER: Arme Fasulye, jetzt wieder auf Stellungssuche..

Dear Jar-Ptitsa: because of the very broad screendump with Fasulye's original words this whole page has become almost impossible to read. Could you please either delete or make that graphic smaller?

-------

I visited the Foz de Iguaçu Zoo in 2002, and there I saw a cage with four seriemas (a distant relative of storks). When I got closer to the cage one of the birds immediately ran towards me to have a closer look, and in the same another - who was sitting on a branch - started to scream. And seriemas can really scream! The rest of the text just describes how they continued to scream until even the one at the bottom of the pecking order joined in, - then it distinctly looked as if the other three unanimously decided that that the concert had to stop.
