Also, it says that when the participle is used as an adjective, it can be translated into English by a clause beginning
with "who"- "which". As an example they mention: "Yih aap keh likhii huii kitaab hai?" = Is this the book which you wrote? (´your written book?´) Could you give me other similar examples to help me understand this way of forming a sentence? The term "Likhi hui kitab" translates to "A book which is written". So, "Yay meri likhi hui kitab hai" means "This is a book which I wrote". Lets take some examples. "Yay whitelily ki likhi hui kitab hai"..."This is whitelily's written book/This is the book which whitelily wrote" "Yay whitelily ka likha hua khat hai" ..."This is whitelily's written letter/This is the letter which whitelily wrote" "Yay whitelily ka likha hua post hai" ..."This is whitelily's written post/This is the post which whitelily wrote" "Woh whitelily ki khencheen hui tasweer hai"..."That is whitelily's photographed picture/That is the photo which was shot/captured/taken of whitelily" "Harry Potter, J.K Rowling ki likhi hui kitab hai" ... "Harry Potter is J.K Rowling's written book/Harry Potter is the book which J.K Rowling wrote" "Yay mera likha hua post hai" ... "This is my written post/This is the post which I wrote" "Likhi hui" and "Likha hua" are used for feminine and masculine objects respectively. "Kitab" and "tasweer" are feminine, hence they are followed by the "likhi hui" and "khencheen hui" endings respectively. "Post" and "Khat" are masculine and are followed by the "likha hua" ending. If you want to ask questions this way, this is how you'd ask them... "Kia yay aap ka likha hua khat hai?" ("Is this the book which you wrote?") "Kia yay aap ki khencheen hui tasweer hai?" ("Is this the picture which was taken of you?") "Kia yay aap ka likha hua post hai?" ("Is this the post which you wrote?") 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

I was in Pakistan in 2010 so I learnt a little urdu.
Like: "apka naam kya hai?" "kya haal hai?" "Main tum se pyar karta hun." But since i speak English, the native people talk to me in Enlgish, So I have few chances to practise urdu and I finally lose my motivation. Just wanted to say, I´m still alive and kicking, and I have more questions. Right now though, I´m busy with my

been reviewing the previous posts in this thread today, and they´ve been and continue to be incredibly beneficial to me. ایک معجزہ جس نے مجھے زندگی کی بہت بڑی خوشی دی I was wondering if you could help me understand this sentence. I think it means something like "A miracle which gave my life a lot of happiness."? What I´m having trouble with is breaking down the part with "mujhe zindagi ki bahut baRi hoshii dii". I don´t understand how mujhe is being used here. Also, another sentence: ہمارے اسکول کو شروع ہوئے ابھی کچھ ہی دن گزرے تھے کہ ایک نئی لڑکی نے ہماری کلاس میں داخلہ لیا. I find this sentence very difficult. I understand something about a new girl joining the class just as the school day (?) is about to begin/start?
