Well, if Germany or Italy wins Euro-2012, I'll do the August 6wc with you :)

Who else is already starting to think of the next challenge? I am but mostly because of the Euro 2012. The list of the possibilities is still huge, but I suppose Irish, Czech, Greek and Swedish are all unlikely, meaning that I'll probably be doing the 6WC in a language I'm already learning :)
I'm personally hoping for Old Russian, Croatian or Italian. German remains likely...
For the November challenge I'm thinking of Danish, Croatian or Belarusian now, but this might change. |

There's a slim chance of doing either Mongolian or Turkish but it looks more like some Meadow Mari is in the cards. I may start in July rather than August as September could be unusually hectic.

August will probably be Italian or German. Or Croatian. I am hoping to be solid enough with Croatian by November to start studying Russian. I wanted to join the Russian TAC team at the beginning of the year, but logic (and a busy life) told me I have to wait for Russian.

Before 2012 began I had told myself that I would do my challenges as...
February: French
May: Russian
August: German
November: Japanese
I will stay with my original plan. I look forward to German, which is a lovely language to me. In the meantime, though, I will continue with Russian (love it!) and try to improve my French. I didn't do very well with it in February, but I did learn more about which study methods work for me and which do not.

That's what I was saying too, I'm fairly likely to do Italian or German in August :) Croatian is less likely but I'm hopeful :)

I'm afraid your German is too good for a 6WC, as you list it as basic fluency. Your level shouldn't be higher than low intermediate.

Is that right? Hrm... I may have to rethink it then. Thank you.

I'll probably end up focusing on Japanese again or Chinese for the challenge in August.
It would be nice to start a new language for the November challenge though. Maybe
something like Vietnamese, French, or Hindi. That would depend on what's going on with my
other languages though come November.
