To be fair to Amazon, they shouldn't be held responsible for Linguaphone's crappy and misleading product. It never hurts to ask though. The worse they can say is no.

Amazon is USUALLY professional and should refund the full amount as well as do something
to the seller. This was clearly a fake and if you don't do something about it while you
can, this seller might get someone else on the site too. Or they might get someone who
believes that this is the linguaphone course and profit even further!!

It doesn't really seem to be a fake though. Just a badly produced Linguaphone course.

That's horrible.
I agree with newyorkeric. I believe that Amazon's policy if that they will refund everything, including shipping, if they screwed up. If this is an actual Linguaphone course, Amazon isn't at fault.
I've had great experiences with customer service at Amazon. If I bought a lot of stuff from them, I might talk to customer service about this issue and see what they can do. Even though Amazon isn't at fault, they might be willing to refund everything just to keep you happy and buying more stuff.

It might be more efficient to hit Linguaphone directly by writing in the reviews at Amazon what crap Linguaphone is selling to their customers. If you want a Teach yourself course then buy a complete one from TY, not a watered down version through Linguaphone.

May I chip in here? The course in question IS the Linguaphone Czech course. The packaging hasn't been created to look like an offering from Linguaphone, and the seller was right to describe this as The Linguaphone Czech course. The thing is, it's also the old Teach Yourself Czech course. I was puzzled by it too, when I saw it at Manchester Central Library 20 years ago, but without the blue cassette case. I used to spend hours browsing through the range of Linguaphone courses they had there, wondering why the Czech one consisted of a TY book and two cassettes in jewel boxes, rattling round in a Linguaphone case.
I like Linguaphone courses very much, but the Czech offering is a real lemon. However, I think it might have been put out, originally, at a time when the TY book was just a book, with no audio. I believe the Linguaphone Czech course was the TY book, but with audio prepared by Linguaphone. Not all Linguaphone courses are the same, after all. Some, such as Indonesian, deviate from the format of the others at the time, i.e. no teacher and student talking about record players etc.
The advertising isn't at fault either, but that is no consolation to the OP. I think you have a cause for complaint.

It is really outrageous for Linguaphone to do this. It just seems so weird. I mean can you imagine ordering Pimsleur Czech and you get a rosetta stone course with pimsleur written across the top of it?
It's the strangest and most unfair thing I think I have seen in a language product, particularly considering the price.

I think to be fair to linguaphone, the full details of the course were probably
available when the course was originally sold by them. I know also they did this with a
recent (1990s) Persian course, and I think also, Swahili?
