This time I am not learning Russian, but Dutch, since I have started the "Fluent in 3
months" challenge with myself ;-)

You're at IUB?! That's my alma mater. =)

I just registered, so I guess it's time to 'fess up. I'm also studying Dutch now. I'll update my profile shortly. Starting basically from zero (but knowing German and Yiddish) I've already finished "Dutch in 3 months" from Hugo. I can understand most of what I read already, so besides making great improvement by reading a lot more, my main goal for this 6WC will be to learn how to understand the spoken language a lot better, to where I can follow TV shows, if I'm lucky. Maybe I'll call it the "HTLAL Basic Passive Fluency in 3 months" challenge.

Good luck, Mae (and everyone else)!

For the moment, I still plead the fifth about my Super Challenge plans.

Solfrid Cristin! I'm considering Russian or Norwegian:

1. My brother is getting married June 1 to a Norwegian girl and her family and friends are coming from Norway for
the wedding. Norwegian will officially be a part of my life! I don't want my future nieces and nephews to talk about
me in Norwegian..
2. I need 6 weeks of focus on Russian, badly. My B2 is becoming B1 when I should be moving closer to C..
3. I would do BCSM but June 4 I'm starting an 8 week intensive BCSM course (IU SWSEEL) and figure I should spend
this time on a different language.

Not fair! I would usually recommend Russian - but given the alternative :-)

Anyway, Russian should be excluded because I believe there is a "maximum B1 rule" for the 6WC - which leaves: Ah: Norwegian :-)

That decides it! Norwegian it is. Maybe I'll be able to include a bit of it in my best man speech!
