Here is a curious experiment that many might find interesting. Try querying Google with something like this: "(Name-of-Your-Nation) are known to be" or "(Name-of-Your-Nation) are such"

For instance, "Bulgarians are known to be" and "Bulgarians are such" yields the following results:

Quote:
a very skeptical nation
very tolerant of other religions
the biggest yogurt eaters in the world
tremendously sweet toothed and enjoy pastries
the unhappiest Europeans
euroskeptic
weird
hospitable
party-addicts
prolific readers
friendly and hospitable people, except the customer service people
friendly honest and helpful people
patient people in everyday life, but put them before a steering wheel and they turn into mad men
Slavs
romanized Thracians turned into Slavs
Mongoloid Tatars
African Muslims
indistinguishable from "Macedonians"
Bulgarians, but part of them are Greeks, many are Turks, and a few are Serbian

I'd be interested to know what Google thinks about the nationalities of other forum members. It's actually quite accurate (apart form some bizarre ethnological claims ;p).

Us English are:

known to be remote, standoffish, and cold (true).
known to be punctual (true, except for trains and women).
known to be statistically the people the most affected by ethilic coma (probably true).
known to be lazy about other's tongues (Lie).
known to be stuffy prudes with pickles up their rectum (not everyday).
known to be a violent lot (I prefer the term 'anger challenged' thank you).
known to be tolerant, compassionate ('multiple personality' comes to mind).
known to be a bit stuffy and proper.
KNOWN to be NO FUN!!! (not true! I'm great fun! Last night I was standoffish with a person who I had previously beaten up, hugged, put in an ethelic coma, joked about his language, and fed a pickle that was previously up my...well).

This is actually quite amusing.

The Irish are known to be,

.. hot blooded and pleasant people.
.. a nation of chancers who violated immigration laws for decades.
.. cops.
.. loquacious and sentimental, family oriented and combative, politically astute and active in law enforcement.
.. devout Catholics, devoted to their families and enjoy traveling to the "home country.
.. such strong people, as well as the Leprechaun in Irish mythology.
.. somewhat ambivalent about drinking.
.. ardent story-tellers.
.. tough. And not to be messed with too much.
.. the ancestors of most US presidents.

Canadians are known to be:

more progressive than Americans on certain issues particularly health care
a rather peaceable and law-abiding bunch
conservative and a little reserved
pragmatic about government
friendly and warm
late bloomers
naïve and wishy washy
self-deprecating, and have a sardonic sense of humor
a little wary of shams and crock companies
