Ive overheard women (in their 40s) say that Sean Connery's accent was sooo attractive about him.
I often heard girls say this kind of stuff but never took it seriously.
The other day I got to know a guy from an african country, and even though I'm only into women, I believe his 'voice' made him more 'attractive' to me (I'm speaking about interpersonal attraction of which sexual attraction is only a subset - preferring to 'hang out' with a certain kind of people rather than with others (e.g. who smell bad :-)) is the kind of interpersonal attraction I mean in this example)
Do certain 'accents' truly make people more attractive?

Definitely! When I was in university I was completely in love with my TESL prof. I was 21
and she must have been 41 but with a mesmerizing Parisian accent.

I personally love hearing Indian accents. It makes them sound more funny (in a good way) and friendly.

I love some of the British accents. I don't know in wich particular English province they are spoken but women can sound veeeryy HOT when they speak that way.

Definitely! Accents are to me just like any other thing with a person that might be
particularly attractive; personality, looks etc. Personally I find the geordie accent
really hot, to the amusement of my British friends who generally hate that accent.

I think there's an element of the exotic to it-- it's "not what you hear at home", and exotic = interesting. For me, it has to be something remotely non-American; I don't find any aspect of any American accents attractive, because I grew up around them so they're "normal". Australian, Irish, Scots, South African, New Zealander... all awesome. Then once you add "their native language is one foreign to me" on it, it just 'gets better'.
There was actually an article in an Australian language blog recently on this... It'll bother me all day til I can find it again. :)

I remember I really loved Wikus van de Merwe’s Afrikaans accent in DIstrict 9. It sounds so funny.
In my native language (Italian) I hardly like accents other from my own, usually I strongly dislike them.

I love foreign accents! Talk about sexiness :)
I especially like Scottish, Irish, Australian, British and French accents.
