I agree with ReneeMona, Tixhiidon and other Xmas sceptics. But my family voted me down when I proposed that we scrap Christmas for good.

However I like the Danish 'Christmas hearts':

Iversen, you remind me of my grandfather! Just last week at Thanksgiving he declared that he thinks that Christmas should be abolished.

But what they do with Christmas nowadays is pretty sickening. By the time it actually comes I'm so tired of it that I just want it to be over. They start putting decorations up and advertising at the latest around the end of November, but sometimes as early as October...

Chrismas is a bogus holiday that I don't like.

Having said that I do like excuses to give things to people and get things too!! :)

I want to go to a good restaurant with good friends and have a fun time.

Yes I agree! I'm not against the holiday, but I don't like being tormented by Christmas songs everywhere I go for two whole months.

This year my gift to myself, if I can do it, is to find a multilingual bookstore in New York or Philadelphia, go there and, and, and, and (getting overwhelmed now) . . . spend the day, browse around . . . wander to and fro . . . explore and listen to other people speaking . . . talk to some people . . . get my a mixed selection of wonderful new things . . . and then . . . set up permanent residence in the place! Yes, in my dream world, this is possible.

But in the real world, I'd never decide which section of the bookstore to live in.

"Deck the Halls with International Publications" that's my song.

"Christmas a humbug, uncle!" said Scrooge's nephew. "You don't mean that, I am sure."

You are free to not like it, but it is hardly bogus.
