Mandarin: rather little, unfortunately. Studied several new characters and revised the old ones through Anki.
German: Continued with FSI U3. I think I'm stuck on it for too long. It's high time to wind up. Downloaded a slowgerman podcast named "einkaufen", wrote out the new words and interesting sentences and exported them to Anki. I've listened to it 5 times for the time being. Also did a new lesson from DW (listening and exercises). Overall, I'm satisfied with my progress.
Spanish: En una log he leido que el muchacho estA leyendo Harry Potter en Espaniol. La idea me gustO y decidI hacerlo tambien. Leo sin mirar las palabras nuevas en el diccionario, solo para divertirme. Y entiemdo casi todo. He leido 10 paginas.

Wow! Almost a week has passed since my last update. But I had to write an article and now I'm finished with it.
Mandarin: I decided to revise everything I've learnt so far. As I've already mentioned, my book gives only pinyin for many words, and they are given in a list without context, and I couldn't remember them well, so I looked up the characters for them and exported them to Anki. They were quite a few (about a hundred), so I needed time to learn them. Also did some listening and writing for revision. Revised the old chinesepod podcasts.
German: Only revision of Unit 3 FSI and a slowgerman podcast.
Spanish: Dowloaded mp3 for the first book about Harry Potter and listened to the first chapter three times. I think I'll write out the new words in the end. Tried doing some shadowing of a ssl4you podcast (the idea is also from the forum, thanks!), as it was my first experience and everything did't go so well, but at least I learnt the text by heart (and the nice phrases are in the Anki - I really love it!).

As I've already got many materials, it's time to set real goals not to get confused with them. So,
Mandarin:
- study a Unit from the textbook a week, every fourth week for revision;
- listen to chinesepod every day, two new podcasts a week.
German:
- one FSI lesson a week;
- one new slowgerman podcast a week (write out new words, read and listen to it several times);
- listening to the old DW lessons for revision.
Spanish:
- Harry Potter - 1 chapter a week (read, write out new words, listen several times);
- shadowing of 1 ssl4you podcast a week.
Anki every day, 3 or 4 times.
The goals are rather managable, I'll see if I'll be able to add anything else.

Hi, neighbour! Just noticed that you have a log here :) Wow, you're doing three languages at once - amazing. How do you find time for all of those and don't get headaches? I wanted to ask you something - how do you use FSI in your study? I mean, in details - do you learn all new words, do all exercises etc? It IS boring, so I still can't convince myself to use it for Spanish. Maybe inspired by your example I'll actually dig into it. Good luck with your studies!!

Hi, Lindley!
I think I spend on three the same amount of time as you do on one (Spanish). I try to use every spare moment. For example, when I dress my child and myself and get ready for a walk (it can take half an hour), I listen to chinesepod. My two-year-old already repeats with me :). And he knows that when mommy revises her words (Anki), she isn't to be disturbed. And so on. I don't have headaches, but I rather often have a desire to fall asleep at once.
I also find FSI boring but I don't see any alternatives. What I did for Unit 3:
- looked through the dialogue and exported some phrases to Anki;
- listened to the tapes 2 times;
- listened to the dialogue about 10 times;
- when listening to the drills tried to translate before the speaker does.
What I want to do tomorrow is to write the translation of drills (eng to ger) and compare them with the original.

I decided not to continue with new DW lessons, as I found that there is no audio for the next five and the lessons that follow them explain already Subjunctive. My main aim will be to brush up simpler grammar first (using FSI) because I still get confused with genders and declinations. So I'll only listen to the old ones for the time being.

You could add GermanPod101 to your slate, all lessons come with audio and there are several levels, from absolute beginner to advanced. Use http://www.germanpod101.com/index.php as the gateway or iTunes, otherwise you have to register first. There is also SpanishPod101, but I'm not sure how much it would help you because you're already reading native materials.

Hi, Sprachprofi!
You know, I once looked through this site. The podcasts aimed at beginners are too easy for me. The ones for intermediate learners have to do with songs, and it's not to my taste. What I like about DW lessons is that there are is an interesting plot and characters. It's so different froms others of this kind.
