I'm not sure about this one, but is it Dante Alighieri? "Divine Comedy", right? I don't even know Italian :P
Just in case I would be right - here we go with the next puzzle:
"Wszystkie szczęśliwe rodziny są do siebie podobne, każda nieszczęśliwa rodzina jest nieszczęśliwa na swój sposób"
One of my favorite classic novels EVER! :)

It's from the same source as,
"Abandon hope, all ye who enter here"
"Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate."
My brother had to study Dante in college for his Italian degree. The professor, C. S. Lonergan, was an expert on Dante. I think there's a least ten copies of the Comedia around the parents place.

I've cheated, as I don't study Polish. With a lot of surfing,
Wszystkie - All
szczęśliwe - happy
rodziny - family
siebie - himself
są - are
do - to
podobne - similar
każda - each, every
nieszczęśliwa - unhappy
jest - is
swój - its
na - (like Russian на)
sposób - way
So I'm guessing it's this quote from Anna Karenina (Анна Каренина)
"All happy families are alike, every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way"

This is one of my favorite opening sentences in literature.
Your turn!

Pooooh...this sounds strangely familiar *grin*. It's from Sooseki Natsume's dreams, first dream, and I bet you picked the quote from that book, what was it called, Breaking into Japanese literature or something...
Do I win anything? ;)

A famous film quote, which I've translated into Spanish. It's also very easy.
"Yo volveré"
And how about some famous Hungarian lines,
Fa leszek, ha fának vagy virága.
Ha harmat vagy: én virág leszek

My Hungarian is virtually nonexistent, so I give up on this, but one recognizes a fine vintage Terminator quote in any language...
