Don't worry about not posting much, handfulofkeys, some people post every day, others every other week, we all have different ways of doing things and that's all right. The omportant thing is, you're learning. Congrats on being able to understand films and animes though. I personally can't, and I know my learning is too formal, but I just don't have to time for passive learning. I'll probably do a passive phase later though. Anyway, don't count the words you're learning. With your method, you're probably learning to understand a lot of words you're not ready to use yet. It'll come, and that's the most natural and probably the best way. So keep at it and don't get discouraged. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Could I correct some errors in your Russian? Привет всем! Я не знаю, что написать, потому что я немного занимался русским языком на этой неделе. Я читал русскую книгу, но не на русском. Это была книга "Лолита" Владимира Набокова. Книга отличная, она мне очень понравилась. На сегодня это все. Мне нужно изучать русский (продолжить изучение русского языка). Пока!

Glad you liked "Lolita". For a while I wanted to read it but I thought I'd learn Russian first, because my hatred of translations is that bad. And then I actually opened the book in a library only to realize that the original language was... English. Explanation needed here: Since I left highschool I actually refuse to read translated books of any kind, and that's actually the reason why I'm learning Russian. I love Russian literature (as far as I can remember it anyway, as last time I read any I must have been 15 :S...)

Thanks for letting me in with Team Я. I am already studying hard. I am doing flash cards, vocabulary list, listening pod-cast everyday, watching Russian TV, reading grammar book (not so intense), and practicing the little I know on weekends. The website is a great help for those learning a foreign language; therefore, I will be a pro member soon. Just to show my gratitude. I will be posting my methods and ups and downs on my personal log, also here.
