I'm writing to see if I can get some info on this program. I just received French Without Toil (1971) in the mail today after Prof. Arguelle's youtube review sparked my interest.
Does anyone know if there is an edition of Le Coréen Sans Peine from the late 60's to early 70's or earlier? Currently I am only able to find two editions. one from the 90's and another from 2004. Obviously I am asking for these time frames because I think (having lurked the forums) it is generally said that the earlier editions of Assimil are far superior to their current catalog.
Any knowledge will be greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone had any experience with Assimils Korean program?

the only program assimil has ever made for korean is "le coreen sans peine", which is the one they currently sell. Maybe the cover from the 90s and 2004 is different, but still the same.

I've only ever seen one. And Assimil's Korean course receives very poor reviews. From what I remember, it's very unorganized. There should be a few reviews on amazon . com/fr/ca.

The fact that it receives poor reviews is very useful information. I recently emailed Assimil asking if they had any near future plans to release an English language version of their Korean course, but they said there were no plans for that at present due to lack of interest. However, if their Korean course isn't that great, then that may be a moot point anyway.
I may still check out Assimil's Spanish course, though, as I've heard good things about it.

The Korean text is followed by two transliteration systems throughout the book, which is extremely irritating. I'd get some Tipex and let loose on it before you begin!
Have you considered Linguaphone instead?

Warp3, the Assimil Spanish With Ease course is very good. Perhaps not as good as the older Without Toil courses, but for a modern course it's one of the best you can find.

According to their website, there isn't a Linguaphone course for Korean, so I don't think that would help him much. :-/

That's odd. With the interest in Korean out there, I'm surprised the Korean course is no longer available. It does exist, because I have it. Looks like it can only be had second-hand.

I also recommend Critical Languages Korean CD Rom.
Other than that, I'd go to the Hollym (www.hollym) website and see what takes your fancy.
