I made another poll on positive/negative votes, and this seemed to be a good follow up. Would you like to see who
voted for your posts? Please discuss.

I voted "yes". However I have no idea what this is about. Do you mean who's posts were
more popular this year or..?
Is this some kind of "Miss polyglHot 2011"?

Ha ha! You've already got my vote dear. But point taken - I'll add a little description.

Hmm, it may sound rude, but I don't give a damn who voted for my posts. I don't see any usefulness that John Doe or Jane Doe voted for me. And what I will do with that information? Contact them and say - thanks for voting? I don't think so.

As I said earlier, the feature that I would want on this forum, is to see the posts that I have voted for, so that I don't have to fill my browser bookmark section with threads where the particular post was!

I really don't care who votes for me. Votes are just a way of seeing that people liked or agreed with my posts - it
doesn't matter who exactly those people were.

While it would be nice to know who voted for you just for the satisfaction, it's ultimately irrelevant to why we're here. People seem to be using the "useful?" button in the same way that we'd use the "like" button on Facebook, which gets on my nerves sometimes, so I might even be inclined to question why we have it at all.
